MEET THE 2020-21 OPERA COLORADO ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE Each season’s Artists in Residence are vital to Opera Colorado’s mission of bringing opera to thousands of people across the Rocky Mountain region. They perform for schools, community centers, and other venues, and are the featured performers in special programming and virtual offerings this season. Their eight-month residency in Denver includes training and coaching from artistic staff and guest artists. The Artist in Residence Program is sponsored by Ken & Donna Barrow, with additional support from Patrick Spieles.

There you will meet the Finley brothers, the owners of the bookstore. They know just how magical a story can be and share that knowledge with anyone who may drop in. Each character pulls you into the pages of some of the most beloved tales and tunes from opera, musical theatre and more. Running at approximately 30 minutes in length, this program is perfectly suited for students as they take their first venture into the world of opera.

Let’s be honest, school feels different this year and everything seems more challenging. Sometimes you just need to take a break, take a breath and get creative. That’s where Brain Breaks come in. These short, interactive sessions are designed get you up and moving, learning about music and the arts. Available individually or as packages, Brain Breaks will spark creative thinking and set the tone for the rest of your day.

Led by Opera Colorado’s Teaching Artists, these fun and informative workshops integrate opera into established curriculum and apply to a wide variety of subjects, including Vocal and Acting Master Classes, Shakespeare, History, Communication, Teambuilding, 21st-Century Learning Skills, and much more. ARIAS & ENSEMBLES A CONCERT-STYLE EXPERIENCE NOT TO BE MISSED! This series of concerts are led by an emcee and conducted virtually for the safety of the audience and performers. In Arias & Ensembles, selections are performed as they would be on stage, but without the use of sets and costumes, which creates an intimate and engaging experience. Featuring the Opera Colorado Artists in Residence, this delightful program includes arias and ensemble pieces from opera, musical theatre, and more.
