FOREWORD Opera Gallery Seoul is pleased to celebrate its 4 th anniversary of grand opening in November. It launched in 2007 with the works of such modern and contemporary Masters as Chagall, Picasso and Botero, and the gallery allows the public to experience timeless masterpieces, many of which would otherwise remain hidden from view behind the walls of art museums and galleries. The Seoul branch is the 8 th gallery of the international Opera Gallery network and has shown the latest, freshest, and boldest in modern and contemporary art through outstanding exhibitions, all while introducing to the world the work of Korean artists which have recently attracted international attention. Also, Opera Gallery Seoul has shown its reach through such endeavors as the Academy program, which was started in 2009 to foster refinement through art education, through external exhibitions at the annual World Knowledge Forum, held at Walker Hill, and through the Chungnam Dangjin Golf Club, an exhibition with Cartier Maison as well as art consulting, in addition to the exhibition work within the gallery, and has most satisfactorily demonstrated its capacity to embrace all these aspects. This latest exhibition will show timeless pieces from modern and contemporary art history, ranging from works from Monet, Chagall, Picasso and Dufy from the early 20 th century to later contemporary art by Warhol and Wesselmann; this exhibition is an opportunity to prove not only Opera Gallery Seoul’s capacity in the global network, but also its passion and commitment for the art. We are grateful for your continuing interest and support on our behalf and will endeavor to be worthy of such benevolence. We sincerely hope that you continue to bestow upon us such trust, as well as constructive criticism. Thank you.
