Opera Gallery Geneva invites you to discover the latest paintings by You Jin, a Chinese figurative painter born in 1979, who lives and works in Beijing.
Les premiers artistes contemporains chinois ont émergé dans les années 80, leur art était très influencé par la culture et l’idéologie politique du pays. You Jin fait partie de cette nouvelle génération dont l’art reflète la complexité et la profondeur des émotions humaines tout en exprimant une véritable réflexion sur les problèmes de la société.
The first Chinese contemporary artists appeared in the 80’s. Their art was mostly influenced by the culture and political ideology of the country. You Jin is part of the new generation whose art reflects the complexity and profoundness of human emotions as well as expressing a reflection on societal problems.
C’est la deuxième exposition que nous organisons ici à Genève avec les peintures de You Jin. Jouant de contrastes, de métaphores et d’allégories, les nouvelles œuvres que nous présentons aujourd’hui sont encore plus puissantes et évocatrices de notre société chaotique que les précédentes. Ses bancs de poissons, ses personnages sans visage, ses tablées sans convives sont autant de sujets qui exposent l’appréhension de You Jin face aux dangers de la mondialisation et de la rapidité des progrès techniques et technologiques, comme la perte d’individualité, la solitude, l’anonymat, l’aliénation.
This is the second exhibition that we organize here in Geneva with paintings by You Jin. Playing with contrasts, metaphors and allegories, the new pieces by You Jin that we show today are even more powerful and suggestive of our chaotic society than the previous ones. His schools of fish, his faceless characters and his guestless table are as many subjects, which convey You Jin’s apprehension of globalisation and the rapid technical and technological progress.
Ses œuvres sont immédiatement reconnaissables. Sa technique particulière met en avant le mouvement, l’énergie et le lyrisme des couleurs. Son style est unique, une sorte de pointillisme constitué d’un méandre de lignes multicolores qui sont tels des fils d’Ariane qui nous conduiraient du chaos vers la liberté.
His art is very recognizable. His distinctive technique highlights the movement, the energy and the lyricism of colours. His style is unique, a sort of pointillism made by a meander of multicoloured lines which are like the thread of Ariadne that would lead us from chaos to freedom. You Jin’s paintings are very successful today on the international art scene and are part of important private and public collections.
