ASPEN
“ THERE IS SOMETHING IN PAINTING WHICH CANNOT BE EXPLAINED, AND THAT SOMETHING IS ESSENTIAL.” PIERRE-AUGUSTE RENOIR
Opera Gallery Group was founded in 1994 and now has 12 gallery spaces in major art centres around the world: New York, Miami, London, Paris, Monaco, Geneva, Dubai, Beirut, Hong Kong, Singapore and Seoul. Today, we are proud to announce the opening of a new exhibition space in Aspen, Colorado. This new space, spreading over 2,000 square feet is situated in the heart of the resort, at the bottom of the ski slopes. Our aim in Aspen is to continue serving at best the interests of art enthusiasts, lovers and collectors alike. We will showcase a permanent exhibition of modern masterpieces and contemporary art, and regularly organize solo and themed shows throughout the year. These shows will exhibit art works ranging from the Masters of the late 19th century to young emerging and upcoming artists. We are confident that our gallery will quickly find its right place in vibrant and beautiful Aspen.

Renoir, Monet, Chagall, Picasso… The names alone suffice to evoke creative talent, beauty, innovation and timelessness… For its grand opening in Aspen, Opera Gallery has carefully selected unique and iconic pieces by Masters of Impressionism and Modern Art. This selection was done with due regard to aesthetics rather than to thematics. It is indeed quite evident that Renoir’s work communicates with Monet’s. As for Picasso, Chagall and Léger, their works can all be tackled, felt and understood in the same way as their aesthetic appeal and composition only have one purpose: absolute beauty and architectural perfection. Calder’s works echo Dubuffet’s with no doubt and the enigmatic shapes by Miró perfectly fit in alongside Dalí’s fictitious world. For over 25 years, Opera Gallery has endeavored to revive these great geniuses through the eyes of its collectors, showcasing their art like the living witnesses of a passed era and of an eternal beauty that gives meaning to life. Alongside these great Modern and Impressionist Masters, great contemporary names continue this quest. Andy Warhol is at the turning point, he represents the nexus between two periods, a necessary link to a generation of new artists who broke up with classical codes but inscribed themselves in their era, their generation, their fears, their ideals, their moral and their values. As we look at the works by Sam Francis, Takashi Murakami, Marc Quinn, Keith Haring or Manolo Valdés, we can only note the diversity of their styles, techniques and medium; their common denominator lying in their search for the Absolute. Finally, to complete this visual wander through time and Art History, Opera Gallery is proud to share with the Aspen art lovers works by talented newcomers on the international art scene that it has discovered, promoted and supported such as Lita Cabellut, Andy Denzler or Kazuki Takamatsu, whose works are now part of prestigious private and public collections. We took great pleasure in curating this exhibition, selecting only very exceptional, iconic and representative works of art that marked Art History from Impressionism to today. This exhibition, the first of many to come, only is a foretaste of our Aspen adventure, which we hope you will enjoy to share with us.
