OI China PRAYER LETTER January 2010
“It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High…For you make me glad by your deeds, O Lord; I sing for joy at the works of your hand, O Lord; How great are your works, O Lord, how profound your thoughts!” ~ Psalms 92: 1, 4-5 (NIV)
In cooperation with some of OIC’s supporters from Taiwan, OIC held a series of marriage enrichment and family training seminars. Clients, employees, and their spouses gathered and appreciated Biblicallybased marriage principles and family values. With these kinds of trainings OIC seeks to meet our clients’ social needs, furthering our goal of overall life transformation.
A Merry Christmas was had by all across OIC! Each office celebrated Christmas with food, games, presents, and lots of cheer! For some it was their very first time celebrating Christmas. Most importantly, all of our employees got to hear the real meaning of Christmas, the story of Jesus’ birth. Praise God for the chance to spread the good news of His life.
Praises & Thanksgivings: •
Praise the Lord for the encouraging donor support through the recent re-establishment of OIHK as a supporting partner. The actual work of OI China in the rural Chinese villages can be sustained and expanded with the long term commitment and support of the supporting partners of OI.
•
Thank God for providing employees who are dedicated to OIC’s mission of “Growing Business, Creating Employment, and Transforming Lives” in 2009. When asked what attracted them to OIC, many employees reply that they were “seeking a job with meaning.” Meaning they have found at OIC. Praise God for the workers who genuinely care for China’s microentrepreneurs and farmers.
Prayer Requests: •
Pray for the Lord’s guidance for 2010. We are committed to serve the poor in China with professionalism and bring transformation to people around us. May the Lord’s name be glorified through the clay vessels like us.
•
Please continue to pray for committed co-workers to join us and sponsors to support us while we continue to expand our service in China.
