OI China PRAYER LETTER October 2011

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil" ~ Proverbs 3:5-7

OI China’s General Manager HR, Carrie Liu, won the Award of Outstanding Student for her part-time MBA study at the University of Science & Technology of China. Carrie has been working for OIC 5 years and is one of the longest serving staff with OI China. She is the first employee awarded the OI China Scholarship for MBA course.

The Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and former Vice Mayor of the Municipality of Hefei, Mr Sheng Zhigang (3rd left) visited Suyu in preparation for his promotion and support of OI China to expand its services in Hefei. The photo was taken with the chicken farming apprentices of Project Elisha.

Praises & Thanksgivings: •

Thanks to God that Project Elisha has earned strong support of the Chinese government as it helps to prepare unskilled workers through this apprenticeship program to become entrepreneurs. As one of the first success stories, the 10 disabled people in the above photo are being trained by an experienced chicken farmer and loyal client of OIC in his farm. Upon graduation these apprentices will be able to borrow from OIC directly and establish their own chicken farms. This project covers many industries and trades including agriculture, animal husbandry and aquaculture.

Praise the Lord for sending His loyal servant Sam Lau to join OIHK. Sam served in Salvation Army in Hong Kong and Australia for more than 20 years. Recently, he returned to Hong Kong with his wife and joined the team of OIHK as a volunteer.

Prayer Requests: •

Please pray for more committed professional brothers and sisters in Christ to join the work of OI China. There are many positions open as the operation expands in China.

Pray for funding support. As the work of OI China spreads more urgent funding needs arose.

While the Chinese government trying to cool down the economy it is tightening the control of financial industries. Pray that the Lord grants wisdom to OI China to continue serving the poor without disruption.
