C

haired by Professor Keith Harding, this second webcast for 2014, continues our discussion of the importance of cost-effectiveness in wound management by focusing on the impact of interventions on patient quality of life.

In this webcast, Deborah Simon, Tissue Viability Nurse from Knowsley in the UK discusses a new study that measures patient-centred outcomes to demonstrate potential health economic advantages of one treatment (ALLEVYN Life) and the patient benefits it provides. This study shows how data collected in the course of clinical contact can provide ‘real world’ insights into what is cost-effective wound management, while also showing how an intervention can positively impact on patient care by addressing common problems such as exudate leakage, pain and conformability.
