No need for repeated inflation or medical checks of the balloon. Risk of patient infection is also reduced by the sterile packaging.

The syringes are also available with 10% glycerin solution. These syringes have the additional benefit of maintaining a much higher level of balloon inflation as the glycerin molecules are similar in osmotic pressure to that found in urine.
