ENTRY INFORMATION FOR SOLO SECTIONS
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Solo sections are defined by difficulty of repertoire unless otherwise specified.
Candidates may only enter one Grade event within the discipline for all keyboard events.
This allows young technically competent players to compete at their current repertoire performance level with players of a similar standard should they choose to do so.
Senior aged students who have just begun to learn percussion may compete at their current proficiency level with players of a similar standard within the Grade they enter.
Levels of difficulty are defined by AMEB and TRINITY grades and/or the repertoire lists provided.
Candidates are not limited to these lists and may select their own repertoire that is of a similar technical standard.
If it is deemed that repertoire is too easy or difficult for the section the candidate will be contacted and moved to the appropriate section.
Entrants must be school aged percussionists for all solo and chamber events.
AWARDS FOR SOLO SECTIONS
• Adjudication in the solo sections will be based on the technical and musical attainment levels of Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.
• Gold, Silver and Bronze Certificates will be awarded to each entrant.
• Trophies will also be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for those competitors who have shown the most effective use of their technical facility and musical proficiency to express their intellectual and emotional understanding of the composition.
