Insight’s Spring 2014 collection builds on Autumns homage to street wear of the 80’s and 90’s; recontextualised with a fresh and new relevance. This collection takes inspiration from multiple vistas; from 86’s Huntington Beach Surf Riot, the emerging skate scene of the same decade and various other streetscapes that dominated the era. These influences are expressed in subtle sports styling, military details, jungle inspired prints and tropical motifs tempered by the urban subculture aesthetics of the time. Key colour combinations throughout the range include clusters of primary colours, the marriage of black and gold and the reccurrence of military greens buoyed by a statement sun-kissed orange. Prints are worn, words are iconic and imagery is as counter-culture as ever. With artistic lynch-pins such as Glen E Friedman influencing this collection, the rebel youth attitude is reincarnated to live once more.
