Why ? • To illustrate the richness and the diversity of the world broadcast heritage • To make it « visible » • By displaying samples on the archives@risk website
From whom ? • Broadcast & National archives, members of FIAT/IFTA and Broadcasting Unions • UNESCO & UN audiovisual archives
How to take part ?
Go to www.archivesatrisk.org Click on « Content supply requirements » Download the « tool box » Describe who you are / partner form Select 5 to 10 clips from your archive Provide the metadata / cataloguing form Copy the clips onto a Digibeta cassette or a DVD Print the permission letter, sign it Send it to ÖRF, Vienna

Cooperation models
Multilateral cooperation • FIAT/IFTA and Ina : donation of second hand equipment (36 machines - Umatic - donated to 12 archives in East Europe, Africa, Asia) • OIF : implementation of a digitisation system « AIME » in 10 African archives • FIAT/IFTA and Sony : donation of blank DVDs to 10 African archives • Offer of tapes from TV2, Denmark & UTV, Northern Ireland
Conclusions
FIAT/IFTA has succeeded : • in making the endangered archives a visible issue • in promoting cooperation among archives • in establishing a set of guidelines and best practices
