ESPITE concerns over multiple regulation and associated inter-agency conflicts, the Presidency and National Assembly are resolute with the ongoing processes to re-enact the
Nigerian Content Act to provide multi-sectoral coverage and harness all benefits accruing from projects executed in Nigeria. The National Assembly has started amending its rules to facilitate swift legislative processes, including withholding of assent by the

Ikpeazu advocates revie w of indices for revenue allocation •NDDC executes over 600 projects in Abia From BONIFACE OKORO, Umuahia Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has said there is need for a review of the indices used by the Revenue Allocation, Mobilization and Fiscal Commission (RMFAC) to allocate funds from the Federation Account to various States in the country. Ikpeazu expressed this view while receiving the Federal Commissioner representing Abia State on RMFAC and a former Deputy Governor of the state, Comrade Chris Akomas, and his team at Government House, Umuahia. He called on the Commission to come up with policies that would engage States, Local Governments

and other critical stakeholders in revenue sharing and exploration of natural resource deposits in the States. The Governor promised to collaborate with RMFAC towards increasing the State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), adding that the State was embarking on key reforms with a view to increasing its IGR before the end of the first quarter of next year. Acquainting his visitors with programmes of the state, Ikpeazu said his administration launched the Telehealth Initiative to improve average life expectancy of her people, adding that his greatest ambition was to have a life expectancy above the national aver-
