Wow! What a day this has been— the likes of which I haven’t seen before! I’m preaching for Papa and Mama Olangi and the Spiritual Warfare Ministries, one of the largest churches in French-speaking West Africa. Nearly 50,000 people gathered inside and outside the church to participate in today’s service. It’s an open-wall church with a roof to allow air circulation because there is no air-conditioning—and it’s tropical weather, hot and humid, like Florida in July. I preached on John 10:10 as the Lord led me: The thief [devil] does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I [ Jesus] have come

that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. There was an immediate response from the huge crowd! As the word of knowledge and the gifts of healing were manifested by the Holy Spirit, people released their faith for miracles and then came to the platform to give their healing testimonies. They testified of tumors disappearing, legs and feet being healed, hearing restored, eyes healed, and many other miracles were reported. Then there was a powerful call for repentance and salvations. Thousands rushed to the front to pray a sinner’s prayer and to receive Christ as Savior and Lord. Wow! What a day… What a service… What an explosion of instant miracles! The day before leaving for the two Congos, Richard preached in Accra, Ghana.

Interesting: there are actually two Congos. First, there is the Democratic Republic of the Congo, of which Kinshasa is the capital. Then there is the Republic of the Congo, which is right across the Congo River. This great river, the ninth largest one on earth, flows through ten African countries and separates the two Congos. Plunging to a maximum depth of over 700 feet, it’s the world’s deepest river, with

the third largest volume of water flowing through it. This morning, we crossed the river by ferry boat. The river is miles wide and it has a very heavy current, so it took at least ten minutes to cross at 12 kilometers. Our team of about 40 people took up the whole boat and we sang and worshipped God all the way across. Tonight we dedicated Spiritual Warfare Ministries’ newest building…a new church building seating about 7,000 people inside and

Today I had a few meetings with leaders and prepared for the night service. Tonight, they asked me to teach, so I ministered on “Things My Father Taught Me”—including healing, the Holy Spirit, seed-faith, and forgiveness. We had a dinner for more than 100 people afterwards. Lots of local dignitaries attended. This church is growing fast. I’m still amazed that they are already planning a building expansion so soon after moving in. They’ll build at least four more buildings to handle their growing crowds. There’s such a hunger for God in the Congo!

Took the boat back across the Congo River. Biggest river I’ve ever seen! Tonight they wanted more teaching on healing, so I taught on Methods of Healing. They said they had never had an interactive message with so much participation by the people. There were around 30,000 people in attendance for the church’s mid-week service. Wow! We saw lots of miracles when I had the people pray for one another. They have invited me to do a Healing Crusade in the DRC’s National Stadium, with all the churches joining together and also with the backing of the President. I look forward to going back and ministering more.

This woman testified that she had a heart problem and needed an operation that she couldn’t pay for. So, she came to Richard’s crusade believing for a miracle, and when he prayed, she felt the fire of God, and something left her body!

ave you ever wondered Who the Holy Spirit is? Have you asked yourself what He does in our lives? Maybe you’ve even met Christians who think the Holy Spirit is too “spooky” or “spiritual” to be a part of our everyday lives. But for me, nothing could be further from the truth! The Bible shows us that the Holy Spirit is to be an important, practical part of what we do daily. His presence in our life is a divine gift to bring us comfort and guide us as we walk through this life in fellowship with the Lord.

able to see and touch Jesus in the physical realm. They didn’t know about the Holy Spirit because He hadn’t been sent yet. But Jesus reassured them with these words: And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you ( John 14:16–18).

Let’s take a look at what Jesus had to say about the Holy Spirit. In John 14, Jesus was talking to His disciples before He went to the cross. The disciples were very worried because they believed Jesus was about to leave them alone. Up until then, they always had Him right there with them, in the flesh, and they were

If you continue reading this chapter, you will read the discussion Jesus was having about the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. However, when Jesus brings the third part of the Trinity into the conversation, I believe this is where some

people get confused and think it might be “spooky” or “spiritual.” How can God exist in three parts? How can three people be the same person? I look at it as being much like water. Water has specific chemical properties that allow it to function in different forms for different purposes. When you leave water at room temperature, you have a liquid that you can drink. If you take the very same water and freeze it, you get ice, which can be used for another specific purpose. Or you can boil it until the water becomes steam, for yet another purpose. You see, our Father God is like that. The water is still water, but it expresses itself in three different ways— liquid, solid, or steam. It expresses itself in three different ways for the purpose that is necessary at that time. The same spirit of God can be seen in life in three different ways—Father God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. As the Father, He’s the most high God, the One who delivers us from all our enemies, and the One who adopted us and loves us. Jesus is there as our Lord and Savior. And the Holy Spirit is to be both with us and in us as our Teacher, as our Power Source, and as One who can give us a divine

ability to communicate directly with the Father through our prayer life. Now, in the Bible, Jesus promises to send us a Helper, a Comforter (v. 16). That word comfort means to summon, to call to one’s aid, assistance, intercession, defense, counsel, advocate, pleader, helper, and assistant! That’s a lot of comfort! And I can use all the help I can get. I can use all the comfort I can get. I can use all the power of God Almighty that I can get. When I can’t turn to people, I can always turn to God. And I encourage you, if you don’t know the presence of the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, why not go to John 14, and study what it says and what it means to you. I believe as you do that, God can begin to show you more about who the Holy Spirit can be to you. I pray right now for the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, the One called alongside to help you, the Power Source, to minister to you today. I pray not only that Jesus is your Lord and Savior, but that the Holy Spirit becomes your Comforter to guide you, guard you, protect you, and encourage you in every area of your life, in Jesus’ name. Recently as I was in prayer, a powerful prophetic Word from the Lord came to me. I believe this prophetic Word is meant to guide us into the good things God has for us this year, as we hear and obey what He is saying. Here are five things the Lord shared with me:

Keep your eyes on Jesus. There’s so much going on in the world these days that we may feel tempted to give in to fear. But God has a better plan for us. He said to me: “Do not look at the economy. My kingdom is not subject to it. Do not be distracted by the devil. Do not spend your time looking at the problems of this nation. Instead, look to the One who is seated upon the throne of heaven, and call upon My people to rise up in faith, for I am not looking to a nation but rather to individuals who will stand up for righteousness… That’s how a nation is changed.”

Expect more miracles. The Lord said that as I allow His compassion—that irresistible urge to remove the problem—to continue to increase in me, I’ll “begin to see more instant miracles” wherever I minister. I’m already seeing this come to pass. A few days after the Lord spoke this Word to me, I preached in Cleveland, Ohio. I shared with the people there what I am sharing with you now. When I got to the part about instant miracles and began to pray, instant miracles began to take place for many, many people. One young man had badly injured his knees at age 13, and he couldn’t run and jump. Although

he’d had surgery, he suffered pain for 10 years. But when I prayed, he released his faith to God for healing and God miraculously released His healing power into this young man’s knee, and he declared that he was healed! To show the crowd he was healed, he ran and jumped so high It was an instant miracle, praise God!

Release your faith. Next, the Lord said, “This is a season for doors opening and for resources to come. Release your faith for it. As you sow your seed, begin to look for things to turn around in your life, for I am bringing back some things that have been lost. Begin now to release your faith and call it in!” The Bible says we can make our petitions known to the Lord. We must come boldly before the throne of God, tell Him our deepest desires, and expect to see our circumstances begin to change, according to His will.

Call upon His angels. The Lord also said, “Call upon My angels to gather in the harvest from the seeds you sow.” You see, God’s angels are to work for us, as Hebrews 1:14 declares: Are they [angels] not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

I believe God is saying that every time we sow a seed-faith gift, we can release His angels to gather in the harvest from the seeds sown. This means that when we sow seed to Him, we can expect Him to multiply it back to us in the way we need it most (Luke 6:38).

God’s hand is upon you! Then the Lord said one more thing to me: “Many of my children have felt like they are in a prison like Joseph. Many have been hiding out like Gideon in the wine press. Many have felt like they have been living in a cave like Elijah. But my hand is upon them! And the light of my love and compassion is shining brightly upon them. “Come out of the prison of fear and worry! Come out from the hiding place of discouragement and depression. Come out of the cave of doubt and the satanic attack against your body, mind, and spirit. I am here for you. It is My good pleasure to touch your life for My purpose. “Watch Me open new doors where others have closed. As you plant your seed, expect My resources to meet your needs according to My riches in glory. For as I was with Moses, as I was with Abraham, as I was with David and Jonah and Peter and Paul, so I will be with you as you serve Me with your whole heart.”

Knee Pain

Twenty-five years ago, I was in a very bad car accident with my parents. We were broadsided by another car that was traveling over 50 mph. My mother was seriously injured and nearly died. It was truly a miracle that we weren’t killed, and I’ve always known that God protected us. I suffered a severely sprained knee and broken ankle. After months of recovery, I still struggled with pain and stiffness in the knee. Years went by, and symptoms of arthritis began to set in. The pain in my joints was so bad that every morning I would wake up to my knee being “locked” in place. I would have to wait a while before I could get it moving. I walked with a limp. Kneeling down was excruciating. In September of last year, I got a flyer in the mail that Richard Roberts was coming to my area for a healing meeting—almost 25 years exactly from the date of the accident. I went to that meeting with my faith set on a miracle. Richard laid hands on me and prayed, and I thanked and praised God for my healing. Healed Cancer! of

I had been suffering with cancer in my thyroid for five years, and it had spread to my bones. Doctors had told me at one point that it had gone into remission, but then the cancer returned and with it came excruciating pain, weakness, and other symptoms that made my life unbearable. Doctors told me there was nothing they could do—I was in the last stages of the disease. I did not have any steps I could take in the medical world. I needed a miracle. A pastor friend of mine invited me to attend a minister’s conference in Sarasota, Florida. The final speaker on the final day of the conference was Richard Roberts. I got a touch from the Lord that day, and it was the beginning of my miracle. At first it felt like electricity going through my body, and then like hot water or hot oil being poured all over me. The very next day, I went to a local hospital in Sarasota to get checked out. They performed numerous tests on me, but no cancer could be found. I was totally healed. My son asked me, “Mom, are you sure? Did you take the right tests?”

I was privileged to travel around the United States, Canada, and overseas with my father, Oral Roberts, and hear him minister in the great stadiums, auditoriums, and “great tent cathedral.” Recently, I was reminded of this classic sermon, which I heard him preach in Topeka, Kansas, in 1961. It’s the story of young David standing up against the massive giant Goliath who dared defy the Living God. I believe it will inspire and bless you! —Richard Roberts

t was perhaps the most fateful moment in Israel’s history. The feeling of death was in the air. On one hillside were the soldiers of the army of Israel, and every man was so afraid that he could scarcely draw a breath. On the other side was the mighty army of the Philistines, led by their undisputed military champion, Goliath.

Goliath had never been defeated. He was twice as big as any other soldier, and he had reduced this war from a battle between armies to a battle between two men. The fate of two nations hung in the balance.

The giant Goliath made this challenge: “If you send a man against me and he destroys me, we will be your servants, but if I kill him, Israel shall be our slaves” (1 Samuel 17:9). King Saul and all the men of Israel were afraid. No one had the courage to face this giant. The king sent out an urgent call for someone to fight Goliath, and David accepted that challenge. What kind of man was David? The Bible describes him in six simple words: For he was but a youth (v. 33). Young David walked into the scene of Goliath’s challenge and said, “I volunteer!” His brothers said, “You’re just a boy. You have never had any experience fighting in a battle” (vv. 28, 30). But David answered with five things that qualified him:

“I know God.” I can imagine David saying to King Saul, “I have experience with God! I’ve walked and talked with Him in the hills of Bethlehem. I’ve called Him by His name, and He’s called me by mine. Once a bear roared out against me, and I slew him by the Spirit of God. A lion came against me, and I took him by the beard and killed him by the Spirit of God.”

Let me tell you, people, that’s the first qualification— to have an experience with God, to be born again. If you are in Christ, you are a new creature. Old things are passed away and all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). And by His power in you, you can do great exploits for the Lord (Daniel 11:32).

“I have faith.”

But when David stepped out, he hit that tiny spot—the only exposed area of the man’s body which was a vital spot, because his faith was in God. The power of God makes this possible. You release your faith as you do what God has inspired and gifted you to do. Whether is it preaching, speaking, teaching, winning souls, or whatever your talent is—that is also your point of contact when you put your talent into action.

David went on to say, “I have a vision and faith that God can do this job through me. He could throw a stone with amazing accuracy. He could hit the forehead of a man from far away, and under great pressure. David was under pressure; the fate of the nation was hanging in the balance. His own life could have been lost.

David was but a youth, but age was not the issue and God saved His people through him. David’s equipment for battle was only a little sling, but the skill to use that sling had been dedicated and given to God. You, too, can be a mighty leader and hero for Jesus Christ. You can be born-again, set apart, Spiritf illed, anointed by the Holy Ghost, and you can let God use the talent you have to make a difference.
