American Robotics Academy What does it take to create a remote-controlled robot that can walk, drive and turn in any direction? Reach out for, grab, throw or release objects on command? Move and act as you design and build them to do? A little bit of learning and lots of fun! American Robotics Academy aims to excite, inspire and motivate children about the importance of robotics technology. Our hands-on classes offer an introduction to the fundamentals of engineering design, helping children understand “how things work.” Held in a friendly, sports-like atmosphere, students work in age-appropriate teams and learn how to design, build and test remote-controlled miniature robots. We use simple, motorized machines – all made from LEGO bricks! – to demonstrate mechanical movements and other effects. Locations:

Children in pre-k through 5th grade engage in playful learning experiences to develop critical thinking skills in a collaborative environment. Plus, each camper receives a cool Thinkery Camp t-shirt! Thinkery camps offer hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) as a platform for innovation. Each week-long program offers a variety of fun mental and physical challenges that activate campers’ creativity. Campers answer their questions of “how” and “why” through interactive experiences designed to keep them exploring, creating and moving. Camps are divided into three age groups (pre-k-k, 1st-2nd grade and 3-5th grade) to provide the most developmentally appropriate environment for them to learn, grow and play.We have designed our Thinkery camp themes to grow with our campers.
