It’s the Soil that Makes Tualatin Valley’s Wine Spectacular Located in the Tualatin River Basin, in the northern Willamette Valley, Tualatin Valley is a wine growing area rich in Laurelwood soils, which give our wines a unique and delectable flavor profile. From the northern Chehalem Mountains to the base of the Oregon Coast Range, you will find hillside vineyards that produce a variety of grapes from the terroir made up from these unique soils. The ease of life that’s characteristic of Tualatin Valley doesn’t stop when you reach our wineries. We invite you to meet our winemakers, enjoy relaxed conversation in a truly beautiful setting, and, of course, to try our world-class wines.

Guide to Wine Tasting in Tualatin Valley
Situated in the northern edge of the Willamette Valley is one of Oregon’s premier wine tasting destinations. With its proximity to downtown Portland, Tualatin Valley’s wine country is easily accessible to all. You don’t need to be an expert to enjoy the wines of the valley. Tasting rooms are welcoming to all wine drinkers, from beginners to seasoned wine enthusiasts. We love wine, and once you visit, you will understand why our winemakers are passionate about our soils and about the wines they make. And we are, too. Here are some tips to help you navigate our piece of wine country in Tualatin Valley. • Plan ahead Some wineries may only be open by reservation only. Please visit the winery’s website before heading out into wine country.
• Ask before bringing Fido Many wineries do allow pets; however, please check before visiting. • Eat before you arrive Wine tasting on an empty stomach is not recommended, and there is no guarantee that the winery you will be visiting will have food available for purchase. • Ask questions The wine professionals who work in the tasting rooms are knowledgeable about the wine they are pouring. • Have fun While wine tasting may have an outdated perception of being “snobby,” wine tasting is a fun, memorable experience that is open for everyone! • Drink responsibly Please don’t drink and drive and use a designated driver.
New Wineries Coming to Tualatin Valley Tualatin Valley’s wine offerings just grew by three! We’re excited to welcome the addition of these new tasting rooms to the destination in 2021: • Maloof Wines (6200 NW Gales Creek Rd., Forest Grove, OR 97116; maloofwines.com; wine@maloofwines.com), winery and tasting room • Amaterra Wines (8150 SW Swede Hill Dr., Portland, OR 97225; amaterrawines.com; 503961-6057), winery, tasting room and restaurant

Maps
Getting Here & Getting Around is Easy Tualatin Valley is easily accessible by plane, train and automobile, and is approximately 30 minutes from Portland International Airport (PDX), which serves northwestern Oregon. Private and corporate jets may land at the Hillsboro Airport.
Arriving by plane or via Amtrak or Greyhound? TriMet’s MAX light rail train transports travelers from the airport and Union Station (short walk to light rail) to the cities of Beaverton and Hillsboro. Simply hop on a westbound train, or catch a TriMet bus to travel to your destination. During the Monday– Friday rush hours, the WES Commuter Rail whisks travelers between the Beaverton and Wilsonville Transit Centers.
Driving here? Tualatin Valley is situated west of downtown Portland and is accessed by Interstate 5, U.S. Route 26 (also known as the Sunset Highway), State Route 217 and numerous other highways and roads.
Helpful tip: In Oregon, there are no self-service gas stations and drivers are not allowed to pump their own gas. Also, it is not necessary to tip the station attendant after filling up. Driving an electric vehicle? Several electric vehicle charging stations are available for public use throughout Tualatin Valley. For a partial list of stations, visit tualatinvalley.org.
Biking your way through the state? Interconnected bike lanes and dedicated bike paths ensure that you can cruise on two wheels throughout the region. tualatinvalley.org
