BB BIBLE / WHO WE ARE

Brooklyn who? “We’re not from Brooklyn and we’re not Brothers!” But we have set out to build an agency with future thinkers for a modern world. If that sounds too deep, let’s break it down.

More simply we: • Answer the needs of future facing clients and brands. They are demanding but in a good way – they want hugely engaging, always-on communications. • Do business in a way that is high creative but without the heavy overheads, complex structures, multiple departments or relying solely on paid for media. • Focus is re-inventing the traditional communications agency structurally and creatively. • Combine the best of brand advertising with the creative flair of Hollywood to create content that people talk about and share across owned, earned and paid for media. • Have everything in-house, PR and social included so we can generate audiences not in the thousands but the millions.

4

We set ourselves apart with what we call ‘Blockbuster Branding’ – a “money where our mouth is” guarantee. Clients will see an increase in their communications effectiveness and their business using our proprietary “Ignition” tool. This nifty gadget takes the guesswork out of achieving the ultimate blend of earned, owned and paid for communications.

HOW WE WORK / STRUCTURE

Why have seven departments when you could have three? Here’s ours - Make it Up, Make it Happen & Make it Famous. Below gives you a run down of how it all works so harmoniously together.

Make it up: Account Management & Production

This is the department with all the creative sparks bouncing off the walls.

This department combines traditional Strategist and/ or Planner roles with Creative Directors, Art Directors and Copywriters. We move quicker and have better ideas that are all strategic at heart.

Make it Happen combines traditional account management roles with traditional production roles.

This allows our customers direct access to experts delivering the work. We can move quickly, checking out costs and timings in parallel with concept development.

They act as publicists in both the on and offline world.

Make it Famous effectively combines traditional digital, social and outreach departments to provide the most complete communications solutions with our Make it Up and Make it Happen teams.

Make it Happen: Integrated Strategy & Creative Expertise

Make it Famous: Social & Earned Media

CASTROL EDGE / BLACKOUT

“FUCK!! CAR B THAT

We wanted to develop a new brand positioning that allowed us to create ongoing content across multi-platforms that would fully engage our retail and dealer audience as well as the end consumer.

We mined global audience data and insight to develop a new global brand proposition which led to the development of a new brand activation multi-platform ‘The Titanium Trials’ - a series of challenges that put man and machine to the ultimate test over 12 months and positioned Castrol as the true performance oil right at the heart of the pulse-racing super car challenges so popular in social media and on the web.

Stuff you need to know Important bits and bobs

FINANCE EXPENSES: You had to buy something for a shoot? You can expense that! (Shopping sprees not included). Expense forms are available from the server BROOKLYN BROTHERS STUFF > BB FINANCE Please submit expenses monthly by calendar month (e.g. March’s in first week of April). Payment will be made promptly! If you have a large expense than ask finance and they can give you an advance. Please provide a job number and supporting receipts for all expenditure (Please ask for a VAT receipt as we can claim back 20% hoorah!). *Helpful hint* There is no VAT on most forms of travel (Taxi, train, plane and therefore no VAT receipts). For nearly everything else there is! TIMESHEETS: If you ever want to see Robin mad then don’t do your timesheets. But seriously do them weekly; you should never be more than two weeks behind. Also we don’t want to chase you while you’re sipping a Piña Colada poolside. Please do your timesheets before you go on holiday. You can enter details either via your computer or an app on smart phones. Clever. When you join you’ll meet Robin or Anna and they will email you your log in code. You need to account for 7.5 hours a day but please record all your time if you are working more than this or at weekends. https://app.clicktime.com

26

JOB NUMBERS: We use job number to monitor costs and time on jobs. Our accounting system is very techy and can handle any number of jobs. You raise new job numbers in the folder called Make It Happen and a sub-folder Job set up. If you also need to record time against that specific job (to report this back to client) you also need to request that job number goes onto our timesheet system. Still sounds like gobbledygook? Just email annaj@ thebrooklynbrothers.com with the details and she will sort it out. HOLIDAY TIME The bikinis are packed, the beach pad booked, there’s just one thing you’ve forgotten… To tell us you’re going! Please email Gemma and Harriet (MIF/MIH) or Felicity (MIU) to request your holiday. They will submit your request to your line manager for approval and do their best to get back to you within a couple of days with either confirmation that it’s been approved or to flag any clash issues. Have a nose in the holiday charts to see who else is away before you start planning (stalker alert). The chart shows how many days you have remaining, but you should always keep a note of your own allowance and what days you’ve taken in case of any discrepancies. Find them on the server here: BROOKLYN BROTHERS STUFF > HOLIDAY Always keep us informed of any cancellations/days given in lieu. The amount of holiday days you have is dependent on your contract – best to check in with Robin or oracle Gemma if you’re unsure.

STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW

STEPPING OUT? TURN ON YOUR OUT OF OFFICE

MORE MEETING ROOM TIPS, JOY!

If you are on holiday, off sick, have a long meeting outside of the office or down the pub (JOKE), you will need to turn on your out of office. To do this go to your Gmail settings on Google Chrome. Scroll to the bottom of the page and turn ON the vacation responder.

• If it’s a client meeting and the room needs setting up with tea, coffees, breakfast, lunch etc. you need to write in the “description” section of the invite how many people and what you need. If it’s not written Harriet will not know. (Mind reading isn’t on her CV).

RECEPTION

• If you want catering let Harriet know THE DAY BEFORE (latest 10.30am) so she can order it. Set ups are for external meetings only.

Booking a meeting room is easy! Here’s how… • Go to settings at https://calendar.google.com/ • Go to the Calendars tab and click on Shared: Edit Settings.

• Make sure if you need to change rooms/time you give Harriet notice so she doesn’t go around setting up rooms with unnecessary biscuits. • Sometimes Harriet may need to swap rooms around, you will receive a Google email alerting you of this.

• Type in Harriet’s (harriet@thebrooklynbrothers. com) and Gemma’s (gemma@thebrooklynbrothers. com) email addresses.

If you need any help email Go to Girl: harriet@ thebrooklynbrothers.com

• Set permission to “Make changes” AND “Manage sharing” and hit save.

PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES

• Next, click on Other Calendars down arrow and go to Browse Interesting Calendars. • Go to More tab and choose Resources for thebrooklynbrothers.com. • Click on London. Subscribe to all 4 rooms. • Success. You’ve done it! So next time when you have a meeting and need a room there is a room tab next to guests, which shows the available rooms. Simply click on “add” and it’s done.

We have accounts with a travel company for airfares and train travel. We also have a courier/bike account. You should book them through Harriet or Gemma (in office hours). Cabs are for people who are working late, not for those still drinking at The Lyric. You cannot book a cab without a job number. Details for our account with CityFleet below: CityFleet: 0207 432 1404 Account: 14158 Password: 9683

This can then be sent to clients/staff in the diary invite. If edited, you can also choose if you would like to update guests. Note: the biscuits are for clients, not for eating… although they are delicious. 27
