We’re looking for efficient giving—meaning, “What can a hundred dollars do?” For example, a seeing-eye dog might cost $5,000 to help one person have virtual sight in America. But $5,000 can also produce 120 surgeries for people with cataracts in another country. Ultimately we have to make the decision “Do we help the one person or do we help the 120?” We have a lot of scenarios like that where we ultimately determine how we can create the most efficient and effective giving model.
