FROM THE
SENIOR DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION I love the fact that Orlando REP provides exciting and fulfilling theatre experiences for your child that are safe, organized, welcoming, and accessible. I encourage you to give your child the chance to find their place here in the Youth Academy and enjoy a summer without hearing “I’m bored!”
A PLACE WHERE CHILDREN ARE THE FOCUS…
As a Theatre for Young Audiences, EVERYTHING we do is about young people and their families and we are at the forefront of best practices in theatre and theatre education. A PLACE WHERE LIFE SKILLS ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT AS STAGE SKILLS…
Summer Theatre Camp is the place where we learn to be brave. To be empathetic. To work as a team. To make new friends. To become more independent. To be ourselves without judgement or fear of exclusion. We aim to help students find purpose through performance by creating a collaborative safe space that encourages growth, passion, courage, and perseverance through the theatre arts. A PLACE WHERE EVERYONE IS WELCOME…
Our Financial Aid program offers hundreds of scholarships for camps each year and work with each unique family situation to support them in the best way we can. We practice inclusion for young people with physical and behavioral needs across all our campuses through teacher training and curriculum modification where required. We regularly work with families to allow aides or therapists to accompany students to class. We encourage normalizing all bodies, all brains, and all personalities in a space that doesn’t just tolerate differences, we embrace them. A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN TRUST THE TEACHERS...
Our teachers are artists with great skill and a deep love for their craft. They are also highly qualified Teaching Artists with backgrounds and experience in educational settings. You can feel confident that we equip our staff with the tools they need to create exciting and fun learning opportunities for your young people.
A PLACE WHERE CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION IS THE NORM…
The arts teach children how to think creatively through imagination. Creative thinking skills are critical in the world of business leaders, where the ability to create solutions to problems is a necessary and valued asset. Creative skills are among the most important skills needed to be successful in any industry. We set them up for a lifetime of success when we make theatre a part of their education and experience. A PLACE THAT CELEBRATES LITERACY AND LANGUAGE…
All of our camps are either based in or heavily influenced by literature. In order to inspire lifelong exploration and learning, we invite students to bring text to life, which supports language activation, context building, and comprehension. Each time we pick up a script or song lyrics, we have to examine what they are saying, how they are saying it, and why. A PLACE THAT CELEBRATES THEATRE MAKERS ONSTAGE AND OFF...
Theatre kids are not just on stage. From our youngest Cardboard Creators classes up through our Design and Tech Academy, opportunities to express themselves through art and technical theatre are open to all ages. Technical theatre not only encourages creativity, but heavily reinforces skills in communication as you share your ideas with others, collaboration as you work together to make all design elements cohesive, and problem-solving as you work under constraints of time, budget, space, and materials. Give your child the chance to find their place here in the Orlando REP Youth Academy. As many of our alumni will tell you, they will cherish these moments that matter for the rest of their lives!

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical Jr., based on the Oscarwinning DreamWorks Animation film and hit Broadway musical. It is a “big bright beautiful world” as Shrek leads a cast of misfits on an adventure to find true acceptance. When his swamp is invaded by banished fairy-tale misfits —cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions - Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task—if he rescues fiesty Princess Fiona his swamp will be restored to its former solitude. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek The Musical Jr. is an irreverent musical with a powerful message for the whole family.
Based on J.M. Barrie’s classic tale, Peter Pan features the iconic songs, “I’m Flying,” “I’ve Gotta Crow,” “I Won’t Grow Up,” and many more! Peter and his fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a fierce tribe, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook. Peter Pan JR. is the perfect show for the child in all of us... who dreamed of soaring high and never growing up. This class is joined by our 1st-2nd grade Peter Pan: The Lost Boys class in their final performance.

DOCTOR DOLITTLE Is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.MTIShows.com The classic tale of kindness to animals trots, crawls, and flies onto the stage in Doctor Dolittle, a big Broadway-sized family musical. All of the characters we have come to love through the stories of Hugh Lofting and the magical movie musical are given new life in the stage version. Eccentric Doctor Dolittle embarks on an extraordinary adventure to find the Giant Pink Sea Snail that holds the secret of life and makes the world a happier place. The show takes the audience on a journey from the small English village of Puddleby-on-the-Marsh to the far corners of the world. Helped by his human companions and an exotic menagerie of animal friends, including the Pushmi-Pullyu and trusty sidekick Polynesia the parrot, the larger-than-life Doctor Dolittle teaches us not only to talk to the animals, but to listen to them as well!
