Since 2020, WESH 2 News has partnered with the Orlando Science Center to produce The Science of It, a series designed to teach people new things every week about science and technology.
Topics range from space travel to river systems, from invertebrates, to predators and prey, to teddy bears, and even the science behind fire tornados.
The partnership with WESH 2 News was developed during the COVID-19 pandemic to find new and exciting ways to reach our community while the Science Center was closed to the general public, but it carried through and has become a popular weekly segment
The Orlando Science Center YouTube (click here!), has an archive of every The Science of It segment. There are over 70 segments available online!
Notice any of your friends featured in a video? Shout out to Public Programs, KidsTown, Education, Life, and other departments for starring in various segments over the last four years
The Science of It airs live every Monday morning on WESH 2

Jacob’s nomination praised him for his “commitment to everyone around him” and gave examples of how he works hard to make sure people feel seen and heard, all while providing his support
“It’s not uncommon to see Jacob buzzing around the Clubhouse” during camp, all while keeping his team and colleagues in the loop and on task.
Jacob has been a big supporter of the staff and volunteers during a busy camp season, particularly during the mornings when there’s a lot going on!
His nomination said that he “takes the time to listen to people and follows-up to show he truly cares.”
Thank you, Jacob!
