Celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2008, Oroton first began trading as Boyd Lane & Co in Sydney in 1938, importing luxurious and high quality fabrics from Europe and evolved into the publicly listed Oroton Group that it is today. Renowned for its elegant gold compact cases of the 50’s and ‘disco metallic mesh’ bags in the 70’s, original design, as well as enduring quality remain the central tenets of the company today. It is Australia’s most enduring design house – with all Oroton products developed from the sketchbook of the design team based in Sydney, and sourced using the best leathers, silks and customised Oroton hardware from around the world.
