As part of its new tourism strategy, the Town has launched a new app that makes it easy and fun to discover Oro Valley’s attractions and things to do, such as dining, shopping, events, outdoor recreation, public art tours and more. Whether you’re looking for something to do this weekend, or you want to plan an itinerary for your guests, the Explore OV app is your goto resource for residents and visitors alike. Scan the QR code to download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Click here or visit OVAZ.gov for details.

At last month’s annual Volunteer Appreciation Reception, Oro Valley Town Council and staff had the opportunity to recognize the men and women who serve on Town boards, commissions, committees and other OV volunteer programs. Since not everyone was able to attend, we wanted to publicly offer a heartfelt THANK YOU to the more than 200 Oro Valley residents who volunteer THOUSANDS of hours of their time each year to ensure that Oro Valley remains a community of excellence. And don’t miss this month’s podcast episode about CVAP and volunteerism in the OV! Details on page 2.

Major milestone achieved – But there’s still more work to be done! Town Council accepted the community’s draft vision and guiding principles. This signifies the framework is ready for resident working groups to develop OV’s Path Forward, the next 10-year action plan.

All residents, especially youth are encouraged to participate. Resident Working Groups will utilize the guidance provided by residents over the past year to craft actions that lead to real results in the community.

OV projects on track for completion in the New Year

Here’s the latest scoop on a few of Oro Valley’s most anticipated projects. Please note that these updates were accurate as of publication date; however, due to the nature of construction projects and unforeseen weather events, projects are subject to change. Got questions? Steam Pump Ranch Shade Structure

Construction is underway of a new, larger shade structure which will enhance the visitor (and vendor) experience at the Farmers Market, summer camps, and special events. The 26’ x 180’ structure, which features lights, misters and electrical outlets, is expected to be completed in early 2025, before the summer heat sets in!

Community & Recreation

Center Upgrades

Accessibility improvements, including a modified entryway and new elevator, are progressing. Despite minor delays in 2024, the project remains on track for completion in early 2025.
