01 SOCIAL FABRIC There are many factors that influence the structure of the society and the relations of people. I regard the space where people communicate and interact as an important one. I explored properties of the fabrics to see how they can apply for constructing space. Space created by the fabric simulates the public spaces that people meet and communicate with each other.

FABRIC PROPERTIES TEXTURE
The practice is to look into the properties of the fabrics that I use to form the spaces. DRAPING
TEXTURE Different weaves, prints and finishes made different texture. They also determine the other characters of the fabric.
DRAPING Under the gravity and other forces, the fabric is able to reveal the form of the supports and even be changeable.

RESISTANCE
TRANSPARENCY
RESISITANCE
TRANSPARENCY
Fibers in the fabric would resist forces that imposed on fabric. The resistance helps to form the structure.
The transparency of fabric determines how the construction exchanges the light with the environment and how it functions under the light.

UNDER THE CLOUD The project was inpired by a travel. I visited the famous terrace field in Guilin and saw local people's endavor to live in nature. The picture above was taken between rains, when clouds suffused in the valley. I tried to make such light and elegant structure with fabric and supposed that it would delight people in city.

02 LIGHT REVEAL ARCHITECTURE A collection of experiments where holes introduce and emit light, making unique shadows. I tried to use different patterns of holes and different combinations of holes to see HOW THE SENSE OF SPACE CHANGES WITH THE CHANGE OF LIGHT.

LUNAR HALO
The project was inspired by the moon's waxing and waning. I tried to describe the change of the moon's arc and the relation of the existence and apperance in the series. In order to make these designs agree with woman body's contours, these arcs are used to make segamentation on the garments. So the arcs are not only decorative but also functional.

FABRIC
Golden and black velvet were selected to express the texture of the moon in our eyes because the light refraction on the velvet is determined by the direction of the velvet. So I cut velvet into pieces and then splice them to make one panel that looks like in different colors.
