Nearly 40% adolescent girls in India lack access to education (NCPCR, 2018)

“The football programme has really helped me develop my confidence and leadership skills. I did not know that sports like football could help build these crucial life skills. Keen to share the valuable knowledge I had picked up as a beneficiary of the football programme, I soon became an OSCAR Young Leader and made it my mission to enroll girls for football and life skills sessions from my predominantly conservative community.” • Netravati (18) is an OSCAR Young Leader belonging to the Badhwar Park community in Mumbai.
CORE PROGRAMMES FOOTBALL PROGRAMME Based on ‘No School, No Football’, OSCAR provides football and life skills sessions to children from low income backgrounds as long as they attend school regularly. Life skills sessions include value education on topics like discipline, health & hygiene, leadership, communication, confidence.
EDUCATION PROGRAMME Basic and advanced computer courses are offered across various age groups through our Digital Learning Centres. Special courses accredited by the NIIT aim at making youth more employable. Early Learning Centres offer a safe space for adolescents of working parents & also counsel them on importance of education.
YOUNG LEADERS PROGRAMME Youth from low income areas are provided with leadership training to develop skills, provide opportunities and pursue careers in sport. The programme also helps in increasing the scope, reach & sustainability of OSCAR foundation. Young Leaders help create a network of beneficiaries and become role models for children from their communities.
