SOVEREIGNTY
There is a perception of Queens living a life of luxury and beauty. That Queens live according to routine like puppets without purpose. With the little freedom they posses, the opportunity to be set apart from their daunting image of perfection and responsibilities is hard to find.
The sport of horse riding is an outlet for the Queens. When the wind is blowing in their hair they feel alive. They sympathize with these creatures and their structured lives, being brought out and put back into their stables day after day.
We can see the freedom in their faces and in their body language when they are with nature. Their perfect features become more relaxed, their rigid bodies become fluid.
As Queens, they can only forget about their duties for so long. Their glimpse of freedom must come to an end and they are faced with their responsibilities as Queen once again.
The Queens remember the importance of their appearance remaining regal and upright. They retire their youth for elegance and grace.
Back in their reality, the Queens return to their manor. Facing their destiny, their responsibilities inhabit them.
The dining room is one of the few social interactions the Queens must partake in. They use this meaningless time as an outlet to reject their obligations.
Evening dresses are worn and corsets are laced up, giving no room to breathe. Forced to behave themselves, the Queens long to leave. Faces of despair are masked with gold; a queen must not cry.
