Orlando Health Cancer Institute amplía sus servicios para los pacientes del Condado Osceola

Orlando, FL – Orlando Health Cancer Institute – Osceola alcanzó dos metas importantes este mes con la incorporación de la terapia de infusión y una nueva oncóloga para atender a los pacientes en el Condado Osceola.

Los tratamientos se administrarán en tres estaciones de infusión de quimioterapia recién construidas en la clínica de 5,500 pies cuadrados ubicada dentro de Orlando Health Emergency Room and Medical Pavilion – Osceola (1001 E. Osceola Pkwy., Suite 250, Kissimmee, Florida 34744). Se espera que la construcción de una cuarta estación de infusión comience pronto. Orlando Health Cancer Institute expands services for Osceola County patients

Orlando, FL – Orlando Health Cancer Institute – Osceola reached two important milestones this month with the addition of infusion therapy and a new medical oncologist to serve patients in Osceola County.

Treatments will be administered in three newly-built chemotherapy infusion bays in the 5,500-square-foot clinic located inside Orlando Health Emergency Room and Medical Pavilion – Osceola (1001 E. Osceola Pkwy., Suite 250, Kissimmee, Florida 34744). Construction on a fourth infusion bay is expected to begin soon. The space also features 12 exam rooms where patients are able to meet with Orlando Health Cancer Institute specialists for medical oncology and surgical oncology consultations.

Dr. George is a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of all cancer types with special expertise in gastrointestinal cancers. She received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York and completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick. She performed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Hofstra North Shore-Long Island Jewish School of Medicine in New Hyde Park, New York. She has been in practice for eight years and has professional memberships in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association.

Dr. George will also guide medical oncology infusion services at Orlando Health Cancer Institute - St. Cloud, which is currently under construction and projected to open in mid-2022. The new 7,100-square-foot facility, housed within Orlando Health Medical Pavilion – St. Cloud (1330 Budinger Ave, St Cloud, FL 34769), will feature six exam rooms, two consultation rooms, and 12 infusion bays.

Orlando Health Cancer Institute – St. Cloud will be the organization’s fifth regional facility, including Osceola and others in Lake Mary, Ocoee, and Orlando’s Dr. Phillips-area.

Luis Martínez celebró sus 10 años de servicio público

El pasado 21 de febrero Luis Martínez (Director de Asuntos Multiculturales del alcalde Dyer) celebró con una cena sus 10 años de servicio como empleado del municipio de Orlando. Labor que ha ejercido con total y absoluto compromiso llevando amor y dedicación a la comunidad.

El esfuerzo y empeño que Luis Martínez ha demostrado en sus años de gestión dieron fruto a una plataforma que ayuda a la creciente y diversa comunidad mediante la creación de la Oficina de Asuntos Multiculturales.

El evento llevado a cabo en Boi Brazil Steak House, fue organizado por La Cámara de Comercio Internacional de Florida Central y con la colaboración de: Jupiter Properties Inc, Brazil America Council, TV CNB.

Luis Martinez celebrated his 10 years of public service

Last February 21 / 2022, Luis Martínez (Mayor Dyer’s Multicultural Affairs Director) celebrated his 10 years of service as an employee of the municipality of Orlando with a dinner. Work that has been carried out with total and absolute commitment, bringing love and dedication to the community.

THE OSCEOLA BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SEEKS VOLUNTEERS TO SERVE ON THE FOLLOWING ADVISORY BOARDS:

Board of Adjustment (3 Positions) – District 1, District 2, District 3. Members of the Board of Adjustment shall be knowledgeable in the field of comprehensive planning and shall be familiar with the Osceola County Comprehensive Plan, the Osceola County Land Development Code and other applicable regulations. Members of the Board of Adjustment serve at the pleasure of the Board of County Commissioners. The Board of Adjustment shall have the authority to grant or deny, wholly or in part, any request for a variance from the specified regulations and grant conditional use requests pursuant to the appropriate findings and further that it is not contrary to the public interest and the health, safety, comfort, convenience, and welfare of the citizens of Osceola County, or that the request is in conflict with provisions of this Code. Must reside in County Commission District 1, or District 2 or District 3. Typically meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Terms are four (4) years, unless it is to fill a vacant position.

Code Enforcement Board (2 Positions) – General

Contractor, Realtor. The Code Enforcement Board shall be empowered to hear and adjudicate cases presented before them on matters involving codes and ordinances adopted by the Osceola County Commission. It is the intent of the Board of County Commissioners, by adopting Chapter 7 of the Osceola County Code of Ordinances, to provide an equitable, expeditious, effective and inexpensive method of enforcing the County’s Code and Ordinances. Examples of some of the Codes the Code Board hears would be; occupational license violations, building code, fire, mechanical, electrical and plumbing codes, zoning and sign ordinance violations, and other various codes and ordinances. The Code Board is comprised of seven (7) members who shall be residents of the County and who shall be appointed by the Board of County Commission on the basis of experience or interest in the subject jurisdiction of the Board. Pursuant to Florida Statute, the membership of the Code Board shall, whenever possible, consist of the following: Architect, Business Person, Engineer, General Contractor, Subcontractor or Realtor. The Code Enforcement Board typically meets the third (3rd) Wednesday of every month at 3:00pm in the Board Chambers located on the fourth (4th) floor of the Administration Building.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Citizens Advisory Task Force (1 Position) – At-Large.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Citizen Advisory Task Force increases public awareness of the function of the community Development Block Grant Program and the types of assistance available to low and moderate income residents. In this role, the Task Force reviews and provides input on the Action Plan, Consolidated Plan, citizen Participation Plan and Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing. The Task Force also provides input on the implementation of community projects. Fifty-one percent of Task force members must meet the low and moderate income definition (households at or below 80 percent area median income). The committee meets twice a year at the Osceola County Human Services office in the Beaumont Complex, 330 OSCEOLA COUNTY, F EASTLORIDA LAKE N. Beaumont Avenue, Kissimmee,

COMMISSION DISTTOHORICTS PEKALIGA FL 34741. MetroPlan Orlando Community 1 2 Advisory Committee (1 Position) 3 4 – Board Member. The Community Advisory Committee ensures 5 the public has the opportunity to review and evaluate all proposed transportation plans and programs. About half the Community Advisory Committee members are appointed by local governments, and the other half by the MetroPlan Orlando Board. The committee membership includes multimodal transportation advocates, as well as representatives from under-served communities and business interests. This composition encourages diversity of many kinds, including geographic, demographic and modal. Meeting Time and Location: CAC generally meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. at the MetroPlan Orlando office (250 S. Orange Ave., Suite 200, Orlando, FL 32801). All meetings are open to the public and include opportunities for public comment. In 2021, there are no CAC meetings scheduled in March, July, September, or November. Terms are for four (4) years.
