This report will provide the reader with a general overview of the Korean Architectural Design Industry. The western concept in architectural design was established by Park Gil Yong in 1932 and it was the start in the modern history of Korea’s architectural design. In 1958, after the establishment of Korean construction laws, the Korean architectural design industry achieved high prosperity and provided strong power to Korean economic growth. Due to the rapid economic growth in the 1970’s and 1980's, several large architectural design firms became the basis for the economic development of Korea.
