Enough Let’s talk. go!

You can attend an innovation conference every single day, year round, all over the world. So why would you choose Oslo Innovation Week? The short answer? We believe in not only talking about change, but actually changing the world we live in. We bring speakers, experts, entrepreneurs, investors, startups and innovators together, and challenge them to solve problems, collaborate and move forward. No more endless talks on what has been done before. No more wishing, hoping, or speculating in how things should be. Oslo Innovation Week brings forward new voices and innovation in action.

Enough talk. Let’s go!

This is how we make things happen! We meet, we talk, and make progress. – Jeanne Sullivan, Angel Investor

Forbes has cited Sullivan as “one of the women VCs changing the world - grooming the next generation of female entrepreneurs.”.

Oslo Innovation Week is an annual, five-day series of events held in Oslo each October. From seminars and talks, pitching contest and hackathons, to workshops, breakfast meetings and company crawls, you will find events all over Oslo.

100 pitches

I bet you’ve already heard about Tidal, Kahoot!, Xeneta and Unacast. But who’s next? Is Norway’s first Unicorn impatiently waiting to enter the scene during Oslo Innovation Week? The 100 most talented and promising startups join the battle in the 100 pitches competition, alongside with international entrepreneurs. High profiled international investors pick the final winner. In 2015 the jury was lead by Jeanne Sullivan (New York based VC), accompanied by Sean Percival (Partner at 500 Startups), Ekaterina Gianelli (Investment Director at Inventure), Tellef Thorleifsson (Founder and Partner of Northzone), Kristin Riise (Head of Strategy for the SME Segment in DNB) and Bård Stranheim (Director Entrepreneurs & Startups at Innovation Norway).

100 pitches winner Health-tech startup, Skin Analytics, won the Oslo Innovation Week’s 100 Pitches competition last October 15th. “Every 10 minutes someone dies from melanoma. Almost everyone should survive, but often diagnosis comes too late. A Speaker at TEDx and recipient of multiples grants & awards, Skin Analytics makes screening of melanoma at home possible with a phone and specially designed lens.”

Company Crawl

A curated selection of big, pioneering businesses opens their doors during Oslo Innovation Week. T hey have been chosen for their outstanding work with innovation and cutting edge development. Startups and delegates get the chance to learn how these large companies innovate through talks, presentations, workshops, office tours and networking sessions with executives and team members alike. The companies get the chance to bond with entrepreneurs, innovators, startups and journalists. In 2015, Statoil ASA held an engaging innovation breakfast, Opera Software shared how they compete with global tech giants, Snøhetta and Finn both held trans-disciplinary workshops, and OSL gave a sneak peek into the upcoming new airport pier.

In 2016, we hope to build even stronger ties between established companies and the startup scene.

The global economy needs a bridge between large, established companies and the startup scene. Innovation, particularly radical innovation, happens when connecting previously unconnected bodies of knowledge. By organizing workshops, debates, hackathons and crowdfunding, we are involving our audience before, during and after the events; inviting everyone to participate, contribute and to be an active part of Oslo Innovation Week.
