28th Annual Trick Or Treat Street Offers Family Friendly Contests, Prizes & More Ghosts, ghouls and goblins will be lurking about the parking lot of Riverview High School on Saturday, October 22 as it is time for the area’s biggest annual Halloween Celebration, Trick or Treat Street 2016. The 28th annual event offering safe trick-or-treating for children of all ages is presented by the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation and Riverview High School. There are also games, bounce houses, costume contests and plenty of local flavors to sample. Kim Pessoa of Riverview attended Trick or Treat Street two years ago with her kids. She said, “They have many vendors, almost like an event at Convention Center.” She added, “They had a haunted School Bus that was awesome, and for kids over age 6. It was a lot of fun, and would definitely go again.” Kids costume contests will be held throughout the evening, starting with everyone age 3 and under at 5 p.m.; ages 4-7 at 5:30 p.m.; 8-11 years at 6:30 p.m.; and, age 12-15 years at 7 p.m. There is a $5 entry fee per person. How Can Your HOA Use Your Newsletter To Promote Community Involvement? Typically, most homeowners associations (HOA) provide residents with a community newsletter. It can be weekly, bimonthly, or even monthly, as long as it provides a source of communication. It is one of the most effective ways an HOA can communicate with residents about sponsored activities, upcoming events, or just general community news and updates. If you feel that your attendance levels are low, there might be a lack of awareness about ongoing events. In that case, here are a few simple ways to get residents excited about reading their HOA newsletter.

Promote, Promote, Promote

Promote all your events. Whether a community garage sale, a networking event, a movie night, or even a big holiday event, residents won’t show up if they don’t know something is happening. Create a calendar section in your newsletter that includes a recap of last month, so residents can see what they might have missed, and add all the events for the upcoming month.

Provide HOA Updates And Board Decisions

Is there something big happening with the HOA board? Did you get the approval for pool renovations, or to

plant those new trees that residents wanted? Whatever it is that’s going on with the board, your residents might be interested in knowing. Provide the information on board meetings too, when and where, in case residents would like to attend.

Contests

Contests are a great way to get the community involved. It could be something fun like a newsletter crossword puzzle, or even have residents take a picture of something in the community to send in for next month. Contests are especially helpful when trying to promote an event. Give away tickets to the event, or a prize during; that’s a good way to ensure a higher attendance.

Get Residents Involved

Allow your residents to have a voice in the newsletter. Ask for them to share ideas and activities for the newsletter, address their complaints in the newsletter, or even recruit a few residents to write a guest article. If you have any tips for promoting community involvement with your HOA newsletter, or any news from your HOA that you want published in the Osprey Observer, send them to nicoleh@ospreyobserver.com to be featured in an upcoming HOA article.

It's time to make the RIGHT choice for your community! McNeil Management's team of highly trained professionals is ready to manage your HOA by minimizing your investment of time and effort while maximizing results.

The Stein & Vine team.

Adorned with a red "PUB" sign on the storefront, the simple façade of Brandon's The Stein & Vine is contrasted by the warm, welcoming interior. Known to local patrons as the “friendly neighborhood pub”, The Stein & Vine has been a staple in the community since opening its doors in late 2012. Ty and Lacey Mathis opened The Stein & Vine almost four years ago after wishing they had a local place where they could find craft food, beer, and wine. They had no idea how popular The Stein & Vine would become, and how quickly it would happen. “When we opened in 2012, we didn’t really advertise. All of our business came from word of mouth. We’re grateful for the community’s support, and wouldn’t be here without it,” said Lacey. The Stein & Vine expanded in May of 2015 and it’s still as bustling as ever. “We attribute a lot of our success to our staff. We’re very lucky to have an amazing staff that cares as much about this place as we do. We appreciate everything our staff does,” Lacey added. You can find craft beer from all over the world at The Stein & Vine but Ty and Lacey make sure to keep the focus on celebrating local offerings, including those

from Coppertail, Hidden Ale Springworks, and Cigar City Brewing, along with other Bay Area favorites. When the pub first opened it was popular as a place to grab a craft beer or glass of wine, but patrons quickly discovered that the kitchen's offerings of uniquely crafted food dishes is what truly made The Stein & Vine stand out. As regulars know, the menu has two sections, “the usual suspects” that include local favorites and a rotating menu that is inspired and crafted daily The ‘usual suspects’ offers dishes such as the "Juicy Lacey", a burger with a cheese-filled patty (grab extra napkins!) and the famous Stein & Vine tater tots. In addition to serving its community with food and drinks, The Stein & Vine enjoys helping local charities. On October 7th, you can help The Stein & Vine support the Brandon Ballet for the 2nd annual Beer for Barres event held at The Barn at Winthrop. For more information, visit http://brandonballet.org/. You can view the daily menu changes on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TheSteinandVine or on their website at http://www.thesteinandvine.com/. Stepping foot into a place that feels cozy like a home, but resonates as a boutique style atmosphere can describe the Apollo Beach Dermatology office in Gibsonton. This dermatology office offers a wide range of David S. Sax, MD dermatological services and accepts most insurances. In 2001, David S. Sax, MD moved to Florida and founded University Park Dermatology & Medical Spa located in Sarasota. Before that, the Philadelphia native completed his undergraduate studies at Penn State University and became the recipient of the Braddock scholarship. He completed his dermatology residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Also, Dr. Sax received his MD at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Lastly, he did an internship at the Pennsylvania State University Medical Center, in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Along with that, in 2010 he expanded to the Gibsonton area and opened the satellite office Apollo Beach Dermatology. The 6,000 sq. ft. office in Sarasota provides more amenities for patients, but both offices do interconnect. Apollo Beach Dermatology provides a variety of servic-

es such as treatments for acne, rashes, skin cancer diagnosis, which would fall under medical dermatology. Other services the Gibsonton location administers include surgeries for skin cancers, cysts and cosmetic dermatology such as Botox and fillers. Individuals can find Obagi, Skinceuticals and Elta MD products at Apollo Beach Dermatology. To schedule an appointment visit http://apollobeachderm.com. “I want the community to know that we are able to give good quality customized care,” Dr. Sax said. For the month of October, products they carry will be twenty percent off. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 13, the Sarasota office will host a 3rd Annual Cosmetic Pre-sale event to celebrate the Park’s 10-year Anniversary. All the cosmetics in the Sarasota office will be discounted for one night. “Great to be part of the Gibsonton area for six years and definitely looking to continue our growth,” Dr. Sax said. The office is located at 13145 King Lakes Dr. Suite 104 in Gibsonton. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Call 741-3376.

Located right on Tampa Bay with views of the water and downtown St. Petersburg, the park is easily accessible and the perfect spot to enjoy seafood, music and family fun. “Just like the SouthShore area has grown so much….so does this festival,” said SouthShore Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Melanie Rimes. Starting at 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, the event, in it’s 28th year, features vendors serving culinary specialities from seafood favorites like crab, fish, shrimp, clams and oysters, to chicken, burgers and BBQ for the land rovers and festival favorites for all to enjoy. “There are tons of options, too many to list,” said Rimes, who explained that the prices for food vary at each booth. “There is something for everyone, that is for sure.” In addition to the food, there will also

be an arts and crafts show with a variety of vendors and exhibits and two stages of entertainment with music for every taste from oldies to classic rock, reggae and dance music. Featured bands on Saturday include Spy vs. Spy, Kozmic Pear, Zebron and James, Six Gun Republic and Broken Tail Light on Saturday and 3 O’Clock Rain, a Christian Rock band, and La Lucha on Sunday. Ronnie Davis, who performs oldies and Elvis songs, will also play. “Proceeds benefit the SouthShore Chamber which annually helps area businesses and advocates for economic development and continued, proper growth in the SouthShore area,” said Rimes. The event is pet friendly, although all animals must be on a leash. There is a $2 per car entry fee, which goes directly to Hillsborough County, to get into the park. Admission to the festival is an additional $5 per person but children under 12 and active military with ID are free. All activities, food and drink inside the festival have additional fees. Dave And Buster’s & iFly...Cont From Page 1 expected to start soon after. Home 2 Suites is a newer brand for Hilton and there currently are 100 locations and more are popping up all over the United States, Canada and Mexico. A site plan is in the works for a 25,000-sq.-ft. retail strip that will house restaurants, small shops and other retailers. “Given the area will be a destination for entertainment, we anticipate high-end retailers in this space and not your typical strip mall tenants,” said Roberts. He added that square footage rates are anticipated to be in the mid-$30 range. Still available are four additional freestanding outparcels which Roberts says they may consider stripping out for multitenant usage anchored by restaurant users. There also is a 2.12-acre parcel north of the proposed Dave and Buster’s available that is undetermined. “We are currently talking with and trying to get signed several complementary users such as restaurants and specialty retail stores that offer the potential to drive more destination-oriented traffic to the surrounding retailers,” he reported. Construction is well underway on iFly, an indoor skydiving center, with a projected opening date in November 2016. Situated next to Top Golf, iFly, where the

dream of flight becomes reality, will offer simulation of free fall conditions in a vertical wind tunnel. There are locations throughout the world with the closest being in Orlando. Across from Top Golf and the under construction iFly in Phase Two which also consists of multi-family development, is Brandon Healthplex, Tampa General Hospital’s first outpatient medical center. The 4-story, 140,000-sq.-ft. facility will offer a broad spectrum of health care services under one roof and is slated to open in early 2017. It will house the hospital’s first free-standing adult and pediatric emergency departments, surgery center, lab services, diagnostic imaging, physician offices as well as a helipad. “This is really Tampa General’s first major step into the new world of healthcare, which is bringing healthcare to you,” said John A. Brabson Jr, chairman of the TGH Board of Directors. When complete, the Estuary, located on nearly 150 acres will house more than 500,000 sq. ft. of development bringing thousands of jobs and a significant economic impact to the area. Florida Orchestra Season Takes Off With Acrobats & MoreBy Kelly Smith

Cirque de la Symphonie and Jeremy Denk

From acrobats to one-handed concertos to good old rock ‘n’ roll, The Florida Orchestra season is off to a wild, wonderful start in October. At the heart of it all is some of the most beloved music of all time performed by the largest professional orchestra in Florida, under the leadership of Music Director Michael Francis. In addition to the September 30 opening night concert with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, look at the variety of concerts packed into October: Cirque de la Symphonie (FridaySunday, October 7-9 with Saturday matinee): The whole family will flip for the Pops season opener, with cirque-style acrobats, aerialists, strongmen and contortionists performing in front of (and above) the orchestra as it plays favorites from John Williams, Tchaikovsky, Ravel and more. The Music of Genesis Starring Daryl Stuermer (Friday, October 14): Virtuoso guitarist Daryl Stuermer of Genesis rocks out with the orchestra for hits like I Can’t Dance, Invisible Touch, Throwing it All

Away and more. This is one night only at the Mahaffey Theater. Free Pops in the Park (Saturday, October 15): It’s Star Wars under the stars at the mega-popular free concert in waterfront Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg, presented by Ashley HomeStore. This year includes music from two Star Wars movies, the original and The Force Awakens, along with symphonic classics, Broadway hits and an explosive patriotic finale with fireworks. Encore performance on Sunday, October 16 at River Tower Park in Tampa (no fireworks). Jeremy Denk Plays Ravel (FridaySunday, October 21-23): See pianist Jeremy Denk use the whole keyboard but only one hand for Ravel’s Concerto for the Left Hand. Ray Charles, Motown and Beyond! (Friday-Sunday, October 28-30): “Ambassador of Soul” Ellis Hall pays tribute to the legendary Ray Charles, with hits like Unchain My Heart, Hit the Road Jack and, of course, Georgia on My Mind. Jeff Tyzik conducts. The Florida Orchestra regularly performs at the Straz Center in Tampa, Mahaffey in St. Petersburg and Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. Pinstripe Printing hosted a ribbon cutting with the GRCC.

Ribbon Cutting For Pinstripe Printing

The Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) recently helped Han Boutista of Pinstripe Printing celebrate the opening of his new shop with a ribbon cutting on August 29. Boutista, a retired New York fireman, quickly outgrew his first printing location in Apollo Beach and has now moved to a much larger facility on Causeway Blvd. just west of US Hwy. 41. He has plenty of room for all of the different types of equipment he has to serve his clients’ needs. He can produce hundreds of printed shirts in less than a day. In addition to the screen printing process, he also has a sublimation printer and an embroidery system. Whether you are in the need of a couple nice embroidered shirts for your staff or a couple of hundred screen printed shirts for your school, Pinstripe Printing is waiting to provide you a quote.

Susan Weicherding (L ) and Lyna Knight (R ) are long-time friends who embarked on a second career as blueberry farmers in Lithia. They were recently featured on RFD-Tv’s new series, FarmHer.

Recently, the pair and their farm, Lyna Berry Farm, was featured on RFD-TV’s new series, FarmHer. The series focuses its camera lens on women in agriculture through the eyes of photographer and TV host, Marji Guyler-Alaniz. The show takes viewers on a journey through a day in the life of many diverse women, telling their story and aiming to create a dialogue that highlights the importance women play in agriculture. Knight and Weicherding have been friends since 1999. Becoming a farmer was originally Knight’s idea. “After researching and visiting other farms I convinced Susan it was a good plan,” explained Knight. “We started farming part time in 2004 because we loved being outdoors and wanted to put that love to use with our land doing something that could bring an income and enjoyment,” added Knight. The pair grow their blueberries and sell them commercially to Wish Farms. They then open their farm to

the public for several weeks in May for you pick. “We take great pride in farming a successful crop, learning from trial and error and listening to other growers that share their knowledge. We physically do all the work,” said Knight. They received the CARE Award for Best Management Practices. “To be part of the FarmHer series was a tremendous honor and proof that gender should never dictate what career path you take or when you take it,” added Knight. FarmHer airs on Fridays at 9:30 p.m. with an encore on Saturday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 9:30 p.m. The series will continue through the fall. For a full program schedule and more information on RFD-TV, please visit rfdtv.com. Knight said, “Susan and I are proud to have taken an idea, love of the land, and put it to work giving us a life that is a dream come true. We work very hard not taking anything for granted and hope to share the fruits of our labor with everyone.” You can like Lyna Berry Farms on Facebook and find out when you picks are scheduled.

MacDill AFB Tinker K-8 School Awarded $750K Project SALUTE Grant

Hillsborough County Public Schools officials have proudly reported of receiving a generous a five-year $750,000 grant to increase the socialemotional wellbeing of military-dependent students at Tinker K-8 School. Located on MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, Tinker K-8 School is named for the distinguished General Clarence L. Tinker. General Tinker was the first U.S. general to die in World War II. His plane vanished at sea during the Battle of Midway. The school, which opened under the U.S. Department of Defense, has been part of the Hillsborough County Public School District since 1952. The original school has since been rebuilt. Tinker is now expanding to include grades kindergarten through eighth grade. According to district officials, the grant to HCPS was one of 48 awarded by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Partnership. “Project SALUTE”, (Supporting All Learners and Uniting To Excel), will

focus on peer supports and mentoring, a school-wide behavior management program and parent/community engagement. “Our district recognizes that military-connected students face unique challenges early in their educational careers related to mobility, family separation and transition. We are honored to have received this grant that will allow us to focus on military-connected students and provide supports during a critical time in their education,” said HCPS Superintendent Jeff Eakins. “Project SALUTE” is promising to bring professional development for Tinker K-8 faculty and staff through a

Stowers Elementary Fifth Grade Students Support Louisiana Flood Victims through Donation Drive

In an effort to help and support the victims of the recent flooding in Louisiana, fifth grade students at Stowers Elementary School wasted no time to take part in a sizable donation drive. Under the direction of Stowers teacher Brittany Henry, the students donated toiletries, diapers, formula, paper goods, non-perishables, blankets, sheets and other needs, which thanks to the generous support of Safety Training and Consulting (STC),

a Lithia-based company, were then shipped to the United Way. “We will have employees in Louisiana for months, working on the cleanup of the flood,” said STC owner Ben Rice. “We are glad to help these students support the Louisiana communities who were hit so hard.” Stowers school officials said that along with the items collected the students included positive letters of encouragement they wrote to the flood victims and their families. “Education is more than writing and reading,” said Catherine Lennard, principal at Stowers Elementary. “The mission of our school is to provide a holistic education that creates productive members of society. These kids are learning about giving back, helping in times of trouble and I am so proud of them.” Safety Training and Consulting has been in business for 20 years and is one of the most diverse and successful providers of safety and health services in the southeastern United States. With clients in the flood area, STC officials said that the company will spend 2-3 months in the cleanup efforts. For more information about Stowers Elementary please visit www.sdhc.k12.fl.us.

The issues she is plans to address are: fully fund education and make sure that kids are taught how to think and not just how to take a test; to create an environment where small businesses can thrive and grow. Small businesses are the incubators of employment in our communities; and as the child of aging parents who have struggled with health issues, Rena finds it inexcusable that over 800,000 Floridians, including 40,000 veterans, do not have healthcare. www.RenaForFlorida.com.

Four Constitutional Amendments On General Election Ballot Explained By Kathy L. Collins Florida voters for the 2016 General Election must consider four Constitutional Amendments. Five ballot measures were certified to appear on the ballots for the 2016 election. One of them, Amendment No. 4 was on the ballot during the primary and received the requisite number of votes to be enacted. Citizens should read each closely and understand what the amendment is seeking to enact. In Florida, in order for a Constitutional Amendment to be enacted, it must win a supermajority of 60 percent of the votes. The Constitutional Amendments include the following:

No. 1 Rights of Electricity Consumers Regarding Solar Energy Choice

Citizens should read this proposal carefully. The amendment does not provide for the right to use solar equipment, as we already have that right. Instead, it would allow state or local entities to impose fees and regulations on citizens who install solar power at their homes or businesses. This amendment is backed largely by the utility companies. It should be noted that Constitutional Amendment No. 4 was on the ballot during the Primary and was approved. It prevents solar panels from being counted toward a

No. 3 Tax Exemption for Totally and Permanently Disabled First Responders

Voters in Hillsborough County have a lot of decisions to make when it comes to the 2016 General Election. From voting for President, U.S. Senators and Representatives to state and county representatives to four Constitutional Amendments, the voters have a lot to decide.

home or business’ property value. In other words, property taxes will not go up due to the installation of solar panels.

No. 2 Use of Marijuana for Debilitating Medical Conditions

Passage of this amendment would allow legal medical marijuana for patients suffering from 10 specific debilitating conditions including, but not limited to, Cancer, Glaucoma, Epilepsy and Parkinsons. The amendment is also designed to require the Department of Health to regulate marijuana production and distribution centers and issue identification cards for both patients and caregivers.

This amendment would provide relief from ad valorem tax assessments on homestead property for first responders who have been per-

manently disabled in the line of duty. Currently, this exemption is available only to surviving spouses of first responders or members of the military who have been killed in the line of duty.

No. 5 Homestead Exemption for Certain Senior, Low-Income, Long-Term Residents; Determination of Just Value

This amendment seeks to provide tax relief for homes valued at less than $250,000 which are owned by individuals over the age of 65 who have lived in their home for at least 25 years. Essentially, this would provide eligible seniors with certain property tax exemptions and allowing home values to remain fixed after application for the exemption even if the value later exceeds the designated threshold. Voting for the 2016 General Election in Florida will begin with Early Voting which starts on Monday, October 24 and runs through Sunday, November 6. The General Election is on Tuesday, November 8. You must be registered to vote by Tuesday, October 11. You can review your ballot and request a Vote By Mail Ballot from the Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections Office by visiting www.votehillsborough.org. No matter which method you choose to vote- By Mail, Early Voting or on Election Day, your vote counts.

Heart Health Walk Raises Awareness & Funds In Honor Of Player With CHD

By Kate Quesada

FishHawk resident Josh Andre, 12, (right) and the board of FishHawk Youth Baseball are raising money for the American Heart Association with a Heart Health Day Walk taking place Sunday, October 23.

Every year, according to the American Heart Association, more than one million babies worldwide are born with a congenital heart defect (CHD). Twelve years ago, FishHawk resident Josh Andre was one of them and now he is working hard to raise money to help kids like him. On Sunday, October 23, the FishHawk Youth Baseball (FYB) organization is hosting the Heart Health Day Walk a community event at the FishHawk Youth Sports Complex featuring a one-mile walk around the facility, bounce houses, super slides and family fun including face painting and balloon animals, music, food and more. According to Stefanie Goodwin, Assistant Fundraising Chair for FYB, this is the first in what they hope will be

a trend of semi-annual community events intended to bring the community together and raise funds for important causes. “We decided recently that we want to have some sort of charitable event every season for a different cause and this charity was an easy first choice as it is personal to one of our own,” said Goodwin, who also has a 12-year-old son who plays with FYB. Although the event will feature baseball related activities like home run derbies for both kids and adults, a pitching contest and a coach dunking area, another reason Goodwin and Andre are excited about the walk is the way it will showcase the FishHawk Youth Sports Complex and all the sports it hosts. Tickets for the walk are $5 in advance and $10 at the event and are available at the baseball concession stand and on-line at fishhawkyouthbaseball.org for an additional $1.50 service fee. For more information on the walk, call at 850-9965, visit www.fishhawkyouthbaseball.org or Andre’s Website at www.strikeoutchd.org. The Complex is located at 16120 FishHawk Blvd. in Lithia.

Lose Weight • Build Strength Body Tone • Endurance • Flexibility Bob & Chris – Both Excited With Progress We always thought we were in fairly good shape for our age (both 63). We had been fitness walking for years or using a gym for our daily workouts. Our eating habits, however, had deteriorated over time, and we found we snacked a lot at night and NOT on healthy foods. We finally acknowledged that we were overweight and no longer as toned and fit as we wanted to be. It had gotten to the point that photos of us were not exactly ‘complimentary’ – shadows would simply not cover our pudginess! BEFORE AFTER About this time, we started noticing several of our friends were looking fitter, healthier, and happier and we asked questions to try and discover their secret. It turned out that each had been transformed at RobZFitness, so we summoned up our courage and marched our not-so-svelte bodies to his facility for a fitness evaluation which (unfortunately) validated our concerns. After Rob explained his proven program of nutrition, cardio, and weight training, we signed up and began our training that same week. Our personal trainer, Taylor, was awesome! He constantly assessed our progress, and cheerfully pushed us to improve (completely tuning out our stereo whining). We worked very hard every session and Taylor continually introduced new exercises to challenge and motivate us, increase our strength, and improve our muscle tone. No time to get bored! Bottom line – we are so excited with our progress. After 3 months of intense training, there has been a huge change in the way we look and feel. Bob’s body fat dropped from 25.8% to 13.5% after 12 weeks, and he lost 20+ lbs. Chris lost just shy of 20 lbs, and her body fat percentage went from 32.4% to 19.4%! We no longer mind having our picture taken! We eat healthier foods; we have more energy; and we are committed to continuing on this path so that we remain toned and fit. We promise…try it and you’ll be so glad you did!! Bob & Christine Garrett

Psalms 91:16 says, “With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.” This Psalm was in the minds of the many men who served as pastors over the Sydney Baptist Church in Dover. The church has been a part of the community for more than 107 years. “The church has had the honor of having wonderful men of God lead them over the years,” said current church pastor, Jimmy Evans. “Men with passion, with vision and purpose and a congregation that loves and backs their pastors for doing the work of God.” Although official documentation did not begin until 1909, the dream of the

This October The SouthShore Regional Library Presents Its Annual Instructors' Show

The October exhibit in the Crawford Gallery at the SouthShore Regional Library in Ruskin is the Annual Instructors' Show. The exhibit features the talented artists who serve as instructors teaching adults, teens and children in the art classes offered at the library. This wonderfully diverse show features a variety of art pieces including watercolor, acrylics, colored pencils, fabric weaving and mixed media. The instructors exhibiting their work include Laurie Burhop, Anne Walker, Patsy Monk, Margit Redlawsk, Phyllis Alexandroff, Diane Simon, Arthur Dillard, Melissa Miller-Nece, Tim Gibbons, Nicole Lamothe and Cory Wright. The art classes at the SouthShore Regional Library are taught by instructors with varied backgrounds. The instructors are working artists. They include university art professors, as well as high school, middle school and elementary art teachers. This is a fascinating and beautifully curated exhibit. Burhop’s fabric work is stunning and rich with wonderful textures. One of Miller-Nece’s colored pencil work, Three Visitors, looks just like a photo-

graph. Wright’s oil paintings are beautifully detailed right down to the tiny details of the strawberries in her piece called Strawberries with Glass Bowl. The Crawford Gallery at the SouthShore Regional Library offers pre-k through adult art classes that are free to the public with materials included. Registration is required for the classes. During the month of October, the library, thanks to grants received from the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, will offer several classes featuring Halloween and Hispanic Heritage Month themes for children ages 3 to 11. The next exhibit at the SouthShore Regional Library will feature the works of the members of the Sun City Center Photography Club. The exhibit will run through the months of November and December. An Opening Reception will be held on Wednesday, November 2 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The SouthShore Regional Library is located at 15816 Beth Shields Way in Ruskin. Exhibits are open for viewing during regular business hours.
