CARDIFF RUGBY Formerly known as Cardiff Blues, the newly re-branded team suffered a calamitous start to their United Rugby Championship. Their new signing and outside half, Rhys Priestland, was removed from the field following a head injury, and their replacement Jarrod Evans suffered a nasty injury to his sternum after just twenty minutes. However, Cardiff Rugby bounced back in spectacular fashion, turning the game on its head and dispatching visitors Connacht with scrumhalf Lloyd Williams slotting in the vacant position. Dai Young’s team will be looking to kick on from that victory, but faces the daunting task of facing the Ospreys in Swansea.

UILISI HALAHOLO Halaholo is an adopted son of Wales and a real crowd pleaser. Capable of playing either role in the centres, the 31-year-old is a hard runner with deceptive footwork. Having made his first international appearance for Wales earlier in the year against Ireland, Halaholo is a midfield threat that can cause problems for the staunchest of defences.
ELLIS JENKINS Having suffered rotten luck with injuries and setbacks, Jenkins made a successful return to top-flight rugby last season and immediately made an impact. A classy operator at the breakdown, Jenkins fits the mould of a traditional Welsh openside and is a natural leader on the field too. As the autumn international series looms, Jenkins will be eager to make an impression against the Ospreys.

A British and Irish Lion contender, Tomos Williams is a difficult opponent to reign in. Possessing plenty of pace and an eye for a dart, Williams can ignite an attack from seemingly nothing and is a player that the Ospreys back row will no doubt be keeping a keen eye on at the breakdown.

Spaces are filling up quickly for the 3 day rugby camp at Llandarcy Academy of Sport. Make the most of half-term with this excellent rugby camp to hone skills and make friends. The first camp kicks off on Monday 25 October for children aged 6-12.
It’s just £30 for one day or £75 for all three. Whether they’re rugby mad or just curious to try it out, drop your children off and let Ospreys in the Community keep them entertained all day.
