ADAM BEAR ADAM BEARD
Adam Beard is a symbol of the determination and resilience of the new Ospreys. He has fought back from the disappointment of missing out on Wales selection to play for the British and Irish Lions and was vice-captain for his country in the Six Nations. DRAGONS RUGBY Dragons have had an unfortunate run of results in the United Rugby Championship thus far, losing their opening round to the Ospreys back in October at home, before pushing Leinster hard at home and losing by just one point to the reigning champions. But their fortunes turned during their recent trip to Llanelli where they picked up the 38-27 win over the Scarlets. The Men of Gwent head to the Swansea.com Stadium today looking to finish the back end of the season strong ahead of their next game against Cardiff Rugby.
RADAR SAM DAVIES Wales international fly half Sam Davies signed a two-year contract to join the Dragons in a statement signing for the Gwent region in the summer of 2019. A former IRB Junior Player of the Year, Davies’ deadly left boot makes him one of the brightest talents in the Guinness PRO14 and European game.Davies has shone on the international stage since exploding onto the scene for Wales Under-20s and leading them to the IRB Junior World Championship final in 2013. Since being named only the second Welshman to win the IRB Junior Player of the Year in 2013, after Gavin Henson's triumph in 2001, Davies has left his mark within the Welsh senior team, debuting as a replacement against Australia in 2016 and a month later securing a dramatic last-minute drop goal against Japan.
TAINE BASHAM Hailing from Talywain, Basham made his senior debut for the region during the 2018 Anglo-Welsh Cup clash, with The Scarlet. Having played for Bedwas and Cross Keys in the Premiership, he was named the Young Player of the Season in the 2018/19 season. The dynamic forward started out at junior level with Talywain RFC and developed in the Dragons Academy. Having impressed on the international stage for the Welsh U-20’s, Taine is one of the rising stars of Welsh rugby. This saw him get a call up to Wayne Pivac’s Welsh squad for the second time ahead of the 2021 summer internationals against Canada and Argentina.
WILL ROWLANDS A product of Pembroke College Oxford, Will Rowlands forms part of the forwards pack in the Dragons second row. At a towering height of 6ft 7, Rowlands made his break within the first team in 2014 and spent the following season on loan at Jersey. His recall came during an injury crisis, and Rowlands’ made an immediate impression. He has since become an important part of the senior squad absorbing increasing game-time. In 2017/18, Rowlands made 20 appearances in both the Aviva Premiership and the European Champions Cup and amassed 28 appearances for the black and gold in 2018/2019 securing the player of the season award that year. Rowlands’ strong performances secured him a place in the Welsh team during the 2020 Six Nations.

OITC TOUCH RUGBY LEAGUE RETURNS The Annual OITC Touch Rugby Competition will again return for its 8th year. Matches will be held at Swansea University Playing Fields with a start date of Wednesday 18th May 2022, where the competition will run over a 10-week period, ending with a final’s night held on Friday 22nd July 2022.
