“We played well against Munster at home before the break, so we know what we are capable of and we just have to deliver that type of performance consistently. A lot of young players featured in our last two games and we need to show the self-belief and resilience that we showed against Munster. We certainly need to bounce back and this team has showed it can do that repeatedly.”

“My first experience of the Ospreys was that amazing team they had and the one everybody my age always talks about, the Justin Marshall, Marty Holah, James Hook and Shane Williams team. Then, you had the front rowers of Duncan Jones, Paul James, Adam Jones and Richard Hibbard, they are my earliest READ MORE memory of the Ospreys.”
MICHAEL COLLINS MICHAEL COLLINS "As cliché as it is, for me, it's about playing as well as I can for the Ospreys and buying into Toby and Brock James’ systems. If I fit in and doors open and I am good enough to go through them, then we will cross that bridge when we get to it."

ULSTER RUGBY The Ulster men resumed their United Rugby Championship campaign in emphatic fashion last weekend with a 10-20 victory over Leinster at the RDS on Saturday evening. Their first win in Dublin in 8 years sees them sit in second place in the URC table on 24 points with only Leinster ahead on points difference. The Northern Irish team have put in some impressive performances during the 21/22 campaign picking up 5 wins out of six games including a 36-3 win over Zebre and 28-8 victory over last year’s Rainbow Cup champions Benetton.

NATHAN DOAK
10
Scrum-half, Nathan Doak is from Lisburn and made his senior debut against Munster in December 2020 – 11 years to the day since he ran out as a mascot against the same opposition. The youngster played an important role in getting Wallace High School into the Danske Bank Schools’ Cup Final in 2020, before the onset of COVID-19 resulted in the cancellation of the match. Doak also made his presence felt in Ulster ‘A’ games during the 2020-21 season before featuring again for the senior team during the Guinness PRO14 Rainbow Cup. He was awarded with a Development contract for the 2021-22 season, before he moves to a senior contract in 2022.
ETHAN MCILLROY Back-three player, Ethan McIlroy, burst onto the scene when he made his debut against Leinster in December 2019. This performance, along with his outings in the Ulster ‘A’ Inter-pros and Celtic Cup matches, earned him an Academy contract for the 2020/21 season. Since then, McIlroy from Ballynahinch has featured regularly in Senior Ulster match-day squads, and he signed a Development contract for the 2021-22, before he moves to a senior contract in 2022.
DAVE MCCANN A natural leader, David McCann, took his schools’ rugby team at RBAI to the semi-finals of the 2018 Danske Bank Ulster Schools Cup. The Belfast native has also captained at Ireland U19 and U20 level and has also led the Ulster ‘A’ squad. The back row, who made his senior debut against Benetton in October 2020, will spend one year as a Development player before being upgraded to a Senior Professional contract in 2022.

IN THE COMMUNITY
Originally launched by the Swans as Give a Jack a Jacket back in 2016 the scheme aims to provide the homeless and those in need with warm layers of clothing to help them fight the chill at this time of year. As part of the initiative, the Swans and the Ospreys will donate a number of club coats and jackets, and we are calling on supporters to join the effort with any donations of their own they would like to make.

30 SUPPORTERS CLUB There can be few Ospreys supporters that weren’t disappointed with the result at the Sports Ground, Galway last weekend. Dreadful conditions did little to ease the difficulty of playing Connacht in their home fortress, but today is a different challenge, which sees us welcome the men of Ulster here to the home of Ospreys Rugby. There is little doubt that we will have to be on our best form, to be successful tonight.
