José Maria Ferreira is a Portuguese businessman, born in Oporto, with business background in engineering, architecture and design. Founder and manager of his own metal works company, for more than 30 years, he stands out for his pioneering and visionary spirit, aimed at developing customized solutions by establishing close relationships and partnerships within the industry, research, modern technology and architecture. Known for his leadership traits, entrepreneurship, and passion for human relations, which he naturally establishes and nurtures, José Maria Ferreira extends this to the management of his business and assets. His passion and taste for art is reflected in the political sponsorship, partnerships and supports that the company grants to artists and several entities in the areas of Arts, Culture and Solidarity.

ECOSTEEL aims at contributing towards the human capital values of its team. It believes that confidence and motivation results in responsibility, dedication and commitment. To promote well-being, the company offers health and beauty services to its staff. Some of the benefits available are a private restaurant and gym, yoga classes, physiotherapy massages, a barber, language classes and professional training. Developing professional expertise will also make the human capital more effective and motivated. Consequently, training employees to perform very specific job tasks efficaciously can be both demanding and challenging. To meet the desired high standards, ECOSTEEL has created a professional training department dedicated to Professional Development: the ECOSTEEL Academy. Initially, this service at ECOSTEEL was only made available internally. However, considering the background and expertise, together with a general demand for specific training, the company extended this service to the external public, in the following areas: metallurgy and metalworking; electronics and automation; building and repairing motor vehicles; material industries (wood, cork, paper, plastic, glass and others); building and civil engineering.
