Lucy Breedlove (she/her) is a Musical Theatre major from Washington, D.C. She’s so grateful for all she’s learned in the last few years and can’t wait to make the move to NYC for internship and beyond! Fav past regional credits include Sue Snell in Carrie (Short North), Babette Muller in Watch on the Rhine (Arena Stage), and Narrator (c) in Joseph...Dreamcoat (Utah Festival Opera). In New York she›ll be working with the Digital Marketing and Development team at Vineyard Theatre. Much love to the fam, Harry, 61, Kappa, and my class <3 We made it!

Nijah Dent (she/her) is a senior Musical Theatre major from Cincinnati, Ohio. She is feeling a wide range of emotions as the semester comes to an end. This semester has been quite bittersweet for her, as she is excited for what lies ahead, but saddened that her time as a student is almost finished. Her time at Otterbein hasn’t always been simple, dealing with the stresses and anxieties that come with being a college student. However, she is proud of herself for making it to her senior year, as there were many moments she didn’t think she would. She owes so much to her friends and family that have been there through tears and smiles, and she cannot thank each and every professor that believed in her abilities enough. She especially wants to thank Keyona Willis-Lynam and Robert Bux for being thoughtful and caring educators, who go above and beyond for each and every one of their students. Without these two she would not be the performer or person she is today. She also wants to thank her mother who has been her rock throughout her time at Otterbein, as being away from home (although only two hours away) has made her realize that distance truly makes the heart grow fonder. Next semester Nijah will be continuing her internship with Brave Young Voices: the Westerville Youth Theatre Group, and hopes to move to NYC! She thanks all who’ve come to watch her class on Cowan stage for the last time.

Kora Duvall is a senior Acting major from Louisville, Kentucky. At Otterbein, she has appeared in Black Comedy (Carol Melkett), The Tempest (Ensemble, u/s Alonso & Sebastian) and Land of Ours (Company). Other credits include The America Project (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Alice in Wonderland (Savage Rose Classical Theatre Company) and Richard II (Commonwealth Theatre Company). Film/TV credits include A League of Their Own (Amazon Prime/ Sony Pictures) and So Cold the River (Saban Films). Next semester Kora will be moving to Los Angeles to intern with RPM Talent Agency. So, so much love to her entire class - wouldn’t have been able to get through these past 4 years without any of them. Huge thank you to her family and friends (especially Whitby for being the best support guinea pig). Cheers to the goons! Onwards and upwards!

THE CLASS OF 2023

Grace Guichard (she/her) is a senior BFA Acting major with a minor in Philosophy from Walnut Creek, CA. Favorite Otterbein Credits include A Lie of the Mind (Meg), God of Carnage (Veronica), and Something Rotten (Lady Clapham/Ensemble). Aside from her stage credits, Grace is grateful for the directing opportunities Otterbein has given her. She treasures her experiences with Time Stands Still, Eggs, and Assisting on Something Rotten. Otterbein has been a wonderful home for her the past three and a half years. Whether it was performing alongside her classmates or leading MainStage Improv, Grace is eternally grateful for the supportive and nurturing community she got to grow in. She would like to thank the faculty (especially Melissa, Sara, Coach, Melinda, and Lenny), her family, friends, and the Class of 2023. Next semester, Grace will be interning for Stephanie Klapper Casting in NYC. Cheers! graceguichard.com

Sam Hoyer (he/him) didn’t have a normal college experience here in the Otterbein Theatre and Dance Department. Working through academic trials and struggling during the COVID-19 semesters, he wasn’t always sure that he would be here today. Now, after all he went through, he’s performing with his class for the last time in Cowan, and there are some classmates with who he is performing for the first time! Some of his favorite shows he worked on here were Something Rotten! (Shakespeare), Pirates of Penzance (Pirate King), and his recent directing debut with The Last Five Years. He would like to dedicate this performance to his parents, Jim and Shelley, for supporting him through all his time here. Enjoy the show!

Daniel Keeling is thrilled to have one final performance on the Cowan stage! Most recently, he worked on Dance 2022: Find Me in the Shadows as a choreographer and as The Business Partner. Daniel will be interning with Lily’s Talent Agency in Chicago next semester. Enjoy the show and Happy Holidays!

She is a Musical Theatre major with a minor in Dance from Oviedo, Florida. Her past Otterbein credits include The Heidi Chronicles as Heidi Holland and The Pajama Game as Mabel. She was also fortunate to perform this past summer during Otterbein Summer Theatre in The Pirates of Penzance (Edith) and Side by Side by Sondheim. Thankfully, she’ll be moving to New York next semester to take part in an internship with New Perspectives Theatre Company and is looking forward to someday furthering her education by obtaining her Masters in Theatre. She would like to thank her amazing professors and classmates for all their support. Lastly, Brittany’s time here at Otterbein wouldn’t have been possible without all the love and guidance her mom and grandma have given her, especially during this difficult time. Without you both, she wouldn’t be standing on this stage today. Thank you and enjoy The Launch!

Beth Sanford (She/They) is a senior Acting major from San Francisco, California. She is so grateful for all of the opportunities Otterbein has provided her, and will miss it greatly. Some Otterbein mainstage performance credits include Black Comedy (Miss Furnival), The Heidi Chronicles (Jill/Debbie/Lisa), and The Tempest (Miranda). Beth is so excited to begin the next chapter of her career in Los Angeles this coming January. She is grateful for everyone she crossed paths with at Otterbein for playing a part in bringing her to where she is today. Extra special thanks to friends and family who supported her all this way.

Dale Saunders is so excited to be wrapping up his time at Otterbein with his class’s senior launch. He’s so thankful for the support from his Mom, Dad, God, Shelby, his entire class, and all of his friends who have never doubted him along the way. She would like to thank every member of Otterbein’s faculty for always believing in her and pushing her over the last three and a half years, especially Stella, Anna, and Sara. She is so grateful to her class for their strength, resourcefulness, and humor throughout this wonky college experience. She owes everything to her parents and her two siblings who are her biggest inspirations. Hannah sends all her love to Dean, Victoria, the 2C gang, and her perfect dog Blue.

Isaac Steiger is so honored to be a unit amongst a class that has paved the way to success through their individual achievements and the communal support of their peers. He cannot let it go unsaid, the experience and memories created on this journey have been, for lack of a better word, awesome. He is going to continue this journey of pursuing the arts because it’s pretty much the crux of his existence; something he has found passion and purpose in. He is anxious to make his debut on the theatre scene and strives to follow his heroes, Tom Hanks, Serena Williams, and Jesus. Safely he can say, there is no greater honor then to close out his Otterbein experience on Cowan Stage, a stage he once performed on, muffled by a mask, captured by a camera. The growth since then has been extremely influential in the forms of utilizing his time wisely, putting a foot in the door of employment, the advancement of society, and the growth of the world. “It all sounds crazy until it’s right in front of you, and you can almost reach out and touch it, but know when to make your move because the Willy Wonka’s of the world are watching.” Isaac Steiger, in reference to his perspective on the future.
