DIRECTORS CHARLES W. DODRILL, Director of Theatre at Otterbein since 1958, holds an M.A. from Kansas University and a Ph.D. from Ohio State. Recipient of many awards, including the Top Ten Men of the Year” award by the Columbus Citizen-Journal in 1967, Dr. Dodrill is past president of national Theta Alpha Phi Theatre Honorary, and Ohio Speech Association and the current presi­ dent of the Ohio Theatre Alliance. He is responsible for many innovations in Otterbein Theatre, including the ‘‘guest star” and summer theatre programs, and most recently the professional intern” program for Otterbein seniors.

JOANNE VAN SANT is Dean of Students at Otterbein. A native Kentuckian, she holds a B.A. degree from Denison University with an M.A. from Ohio State. She began teaching at Otterbein in 1948 and has served actively as choreographer or assistant choreographer in every musical since, including Knickerbocker Holiday, The Student Prince, Oklahoma!, Brigadoon in 1956 and 1967, Carousel, The Music Man, My Fair Lady, Camelot, Fiddler on the Roof, Canterbury Tales and last year’s production of Kiss Me Kate.

FRED J. THAYER, Designer-Technical Director at Otterbein since 1960, is a graduate of Bowl­ ing Green University with an M.A. in Theatre. He has designed for the University of Toledo, Toledo’s Children’s Theatre, Bowling Green, and Huron Playhouse. Last term, while on sabbati­ cal, Mr. Thayer studied in New York with such designers as Jo Mielziner and Lester Polakov. He recently designed his 100th show, Dracula, on Otterbein’s stage.

MORTON ACHTER, Chairman of the Otterbein Music Department was formerly Chairman of the Fine Arts Department at Bloomfield College in New Jersey. He attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Michigan where he has directed approximately twenty pro­ ductions including South Pacific, Gypsy, Threepenny Opera, Oklahoma! and Carnival!. As an undergraduate at M.I.T., Dr. Achter wrote and directed three college musicals, and later con­ ducted the Boston Pops Orchestra in performance of one of his scores. Out On A Limbo.

WILLIAM WYMAN, Assi stant Professor of Voice and Choral Music, is Director of the Concert Choir and Producer-Director of the Opera Theatre. He came to Otterbein from West Virginia Uni­ versity, with M.M. and D.M.A. degrees, where he was Producer-Director of the Children’s Opera Theatre and Music Director of the Summer Opera Theatre. His Children’s Opera Theatre was the subject of two documentaries filmed for N.E.T. He has directed or performed over 25 operas.

PETIE DODRILL is a native Pennsylvanian with a B.A. degree from Penn State and an M. F.A. in Theatre from Ohio University. She has worked as an actress, director, designer and costume designer for several theatres, and she functions as Costume Designer and Children’s Theatre Director at Otterbein. She is a part-time drama teacher at Gahanna Lincoln High School.

Dennis Romer, Otterbein graduate and currently professional actor who was with us last summer, returns to irect MOVE OVER, MRS. MARKHAM and appear in lead roles in the other productions.

DRAC(JLA‘^rilltrT* ‘"*^'''w°' Otterbein who directed the 1974 fall production of COUNT will be Assistant Managing Director and direct THE LIAR. Marty Bookwalter, Otterbein graduate who recently completed his professional internship at the Washington Arena Stage and designed our production of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, will function as Designer-Technical Director for the summer.

Mrs. Petie Dodrill, Children s Theatre Director and Costume Designer at Otterbein, will function m that capacity for the summer. Pamela Simmons (currently interning at Barter Theatre) will assist and also design.

Approximately 20 students comprise the basic acting and technical company. Actors include Jim west, Pamela Hill, John Cain, Sue Ann Kocks, James St. Clair, Dorothy Deitz, Steven Black, Beth itus an ° Tribbie of Ohio University. Other company members include John Woodland, Pam immons, e ie Banwart, Tony Kovacic, Mary Beth Watkins, Charles Armen and Dale Lund.
