What Makes an Otterbein Education STAND OUT?
Q: Do you have any advice for how to choose an FYS? A: My best advice would be to explore something new! FYS classes are a great opportunity for students to think outside of their normal scope, which is a fun and important thing to do in life. Q: What makes the academic experience at Otterbein unique? A: I have loved every professor that I’ve had class with in my departments. Forming those relationships with my professors has paid off in many different ways. I’ve been given job opportunities and have also received great life advice from them.

Admission to Otterbein is based on a student’s overall potential for academic success. Decisions are made after a holistic review of grades earned through the junior year as well as other criteria, including ACT or SAT scores, application essay, activities and involvement and guidance counselor recommendation. Otterbein places more emphasis on the academic transcript, as we believe it is one of the best indicators of student success and college preparation. Each student is also considered for the unique talents and contributions he or she will offer the Otterbein community.
Need-based financial aid award notifications begin. Award letters are sent on a rolling basis approximately two weeks after the FAFSA is submitted and completed, and students are admitted. Students participating in audition-based programs and special scholarship opportunities may not receive their award letter until the scholarship process is completed.
