Intensive English Program
CUSTOMIZED ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRAMS Language for the world stage
The Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) at the University of Oklahoma is located in Norman, Oklahoma. CESL prepares students for the university by focusing on English for academic purposes, teaching American culture classes, and practicing American classroom culture.
The University of Oklahoma (OU) is ranked in the top 50 public universities in the United States and is dedicated to advancing international educational opportunities. CESL can customize and conduct short-term intensive English programs for universities, agencies, and businesses.
With full immersion in the American education model and the English language, students will return home with a unique and practical perspective on learning English in the United States. Because students will be fully immersed in the English language, their language learning ability will increase and students will experience rapid improvement in their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Students will form lifelong connections with the instructors, other international CESL students, and Americans in the University of Oklahoma community. The bonds formed during their time at CESL will provide opportunities for future learning and continue to strengthen the relationship between our two countries.
“I just loved my experience at CESL. I had funny teachers and classmates from everywhere in the world. It did not even feel like I was going to school. It also felt like home. Everyone was so nice and warm with us. I enjoyed the activities that our teachers organized for us. I’m finally able to express myself in front of other people using a second language. Thanks to the CESL team, I have the opportunity to travel to Canada next month to continue learning this amazing language.”
