O-ring Permeability Experimental Setup Sample Flux Data
Abstract O-rings in the oil and gas industry are used to protect sensitive electronics from varying pressures and temperatures. The Oring Permeability Team at the University of Oklahoma was asked to design a modular setup to test the sealing performance of multiple O-rings under simulated industry conditions. Parameters of focus were pressure, temperature, fill percentage, and compression percentage. A test fixture was designed and manufactured leading to experimental testing and results that provided the means for a design of experiments analysis of the parameters for efficient future testing.
