Exchange Student Program

The University of Oklahoma is a comprehensive research institution in the heartland of the United States. OU is home to a diverse group of more than 31,000 local and international students. Our exchange and degree-seeking international students come from 120 different countries.


The community of Norman is a great place to live. It is quiet enough to study but vibrant enough to offer many fun festivals, numerous campus lectures, movies, sports, quaint art galleries, local bands and much more. OU is located 25 minutes from Oklahoma City, the capital of the state of Oklahoma. Oklahoma City features a rich history, fun nightlife, great shopping and dining in the various downtown districts, and plenty more to see and do.

You must demonstrate financial support to apply for the J-1 exchange visitor visa. Your OU tuition is waived so you will only need to pay for living expenses, student fees and any tuition costs at your home university.
