Congratulations and Special Thanks to The Game Changers. Congratulations to these men of character, who have contributed so much to bringing the great game of golf to the masses in America. Thank you Francis for your courage and talent, and for helping launch the Scholarship Fund in your name, which has provided important college tuition assistance to thousands of young men and women. Thank you Arnold for helping to catapult the success of the Ouimet Fund in 1997, when you accepted our Lifelong Contributions to Golf Award, and all the assistance you have given the Ouimet Fund over the years. Thank you also for serving as host of our Ouimet 100 Gala.

Pass The Hat for Eddie! As an amateur, Francis Ouimet was not able to accept the U.S. Open winner’s purse at The Country Club in 1913. With nothing to share with his 10 year-old caddie, legend has it that Ouimet pleaded with friends and fans to take up a collection for Eddie Lowery. We are proud to support the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund. And we salute the organization for continuing to Pass the Hat for all the “Eddies” working in the game of golf, and for distributing more than $25 million in tuition assistance to deserving young people across the state. Congratulations on this Centennial Anniversary.

Thank You Mr. Mayor! When the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund launched its program to attract and support Boston’s youth in 1998, Mayor Menino was there. A great Champion of The Fund throughout his 20 year term, Mayor Thomas M. Menino was integral to the success of the Inner City Program, which has awarded more than $900,000 in tuition assistance to promising Boston youngsters. On behalf of all of Boston’s Ouimet Scholars, thank you Mr. Mayor!
