Looking Forward!

Guilderland, NY - Wow! Even when time seems to be standing still, it can fly by! It certainly feels that way to me. Is it possible that, no matter your age or situation, that 2020 one of the most disruptive years in everyone’s life, has come to a close? We will receive, in the upcoming year, the “gift” of a vaccine to combat the ravages of Covid 19. We will hopefully see a return to our normal routines, which we might once have viewed as somewhat boring and monotonous? Now they seem like a precious “gift “, not to be taken for granted.

This past year saw dramatic changes in our practice. Closing our office as mandated by the State, was one of the most difficult situations to go through professionally. It was challenging and reminiscent of not being able to practice after the Christmas Eve office fire in 2013? Every reasonable safety and health precaution was instituted upon reopening this past June. It was a “gift” to reopen. Practicing dentistry is my passion and every patient and their care is personally and professionally important to me.

So as this difficult year drew to a close and the season of “gift giving” has passed, we might take a moment to be thankful for the “gifts” life gives to us that cannot be tied neatly with a bow. I know I have much gratitude for the “gift “of health and my relationships, both personal and professional.

The ability to feel gratitude is a “gift” in and of itself, especially after a year like 2020.
