Education Showcase
Are your marketing initiatives struggling to make an impact? Are you failing to attract your target audience? Are you finding it hard to differentiate yourself from your ‘competitors’? Unfortunately, in our case-hardened experience, we’ve learned that it is not always enough to attract students simply by citing qualities such as high academic standards and good facilities – because competitors are probably saying it too. Instead, we work with our clients to identify what else makes them great. We look at what they offer students, parents and staff that others don’t. And how they can use their marketing output to make them stand out from the crowd and engage with their target audience. This could be through the use of viral campaigns, Facebook, websites and mobile phone applications – or simply a prospectus that is more vibrant and captivating than the competition. And if they, or you, really don’t know where to start, we’ll cost-up a marketing strategy. We invite you to take a look at the examples within these pages, and consider what our expertise and creative approach could do for your establishment.

We can make all the difference
Priory School asked us to design and print their 2007-2008 Yearbook. They were so impressed that they asked us to do it again the following year!
Printed materials “ Gingernut Creative were instrumental in the success of our new prospectus... the final prospectus was of an excellent quality and something the school is very proud of.” Gary Smart, Senior Personnel Manager, St. Edmund Campion Catholic School
We have an excellent reputation amongst our clients for producing top-quality printed materials that fulfil their briefs to the letter. For each new challenge, we work closely with our client to establish the right look and feel, relevant to their brand. This collaboration, combined with our creativity and expertise, means that the finished design invariably exceeds all expectations. However, with the best will in the world, a great design won’t ‘wow’ your target audience without great photography. Commissioned photography often makes all the difference in demonstrating the attributes and qualities of your establishment. Just ask St. Edmund Campion Catholic School and Rydens Sixth Form College.
We work closely with specialist photographers to ensure that students are depicted as engaged and enthused.

Course brochure concept for The Sixth Form College Solihull, that utilises ‘Page Turning’ technology
Online technology With the majority of students having both access to the web and aspirations about owning the latest technology, using online tools is, in our eyes, the way forward in terms of marketing within your sector. Websites are now more than just a means of educating your target audience about your establishment. They can contain up-to-the-minute news, downloads of your prospectus, forums, online application forms, a way to send in homework and much, much more. An excellent interactive website has the ability to engage and make your budget work harder than many an advertising campaign. In addition, many of our clients are now looking to reduce both their carbon footprint and print costs by putting their printed materials online or on a USB stick, as PDF downloads or by using ‘Page Turning’ technology.
If you want to make the news and create a buzz, then a mobile phone application is the way to go! And it would be money well spent, as it is an excellent tool for interaction and information sharing between staff, students, parents and potential applicants. Features could include a campus map, college directory, contact section and pages with useful information, including open days and the like.

Funded publications Connexions Leeds Year 11 Filofax
Because we appreciate that budgets are tight in the current financial climate, we offer our clients the option of supporting their publication through advertising. This means that we invite, on their behalf, relevant businesses or organisations to advertise within the publication that they wish to produce. We appreciate that this may not be appropriate for every client, or every piece of marketing, but it has proved useful, if not vital, for many of them. We have many years of expertise in this area, with a dedicated sales team that has worked on procuring advertising for the likes of Connexions, Council Sports Directories, School Prospectuses and Yearbooks, and the prestigious Edgbaston Priory Club. Most commonly, marketing endeavours are part-funded by advertising, although on occasion it has provided the full budget. However, securing this is entirely dependent on the level of interest from potential advertisers.
“ …the team at Gingernut Creative worked so hard on both design and advertising to keep costs down whilst still producing a superb product.” J ulie O’Hare MCIPR, Leveret Communications, on behalf of Edgbaston Priory Club
