Perth Undergraduate Choral Society
St Mary’s Cathedral continued its musical tradition of welcoming new ensembles to perform during the year. In October, an invitation was extended to the Perth Undergraduate Choral Society.
This Choir has a history extending back several decades, however, this proved to be a special occasion for the group, as one of its first performances following the easing of the COVID restrictions in Perth. The Cathedral Choir joined the Undergraduate Choral Society in singing some of the works including Britten’s “Rejoice in the Lamb” and a classic set of spirituals arranged by Michael Tippett. An audience of around 150 people expressed their collective enjoyment of this eclectic programme.
