His Story Darrell Henderson was born on April 12, 1971 in Orleans Parish to Ruth Henderson and Willie Torry, and was th the 7 of 8 children. Darrell was a native and resident of New Orleans and graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1989. He furthered his education attending Delgado Community College and Dillard University. Darrell was the loving husband of Yosha Howard Henderson and father of Isaiah Monroe Henderson and Dijon Jenkins. While living in Houston, TX with his family, he and his wife were the administrators of an AAU Basketball Camp. It was through this camp that they tried to make a positive impact on every student they encountered. He was an avid sports fan, often trash talking about his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints. Darrell could often be found at Danny’s Seafood picking up his “2 turkey necks and a beer.” Family was very important to Darrel and he loved spending time with his friends and hanging out partying with his siblings Putt and Kaye.

Memories ‌
Our Tribute Dear Brother! The love I’ve lost only a sibling that has lost a sibling understands. But most of all Wayne Torry and Michael were waiting at the gates and I hope God allows them to get their drink on for one more moment. Just to know that they are all together again… physically they’re gone, in our hearts they never left. ~~ Your Older Sister ~~
To My Friend… I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge, that myth is more potent than history, that dreams are more powerful than facts, that hope always triumphs over experience, that laughter is the only cure for grief, And I believe that love is stronger than death. I love you Darrell… R.I.P. Your Friend, Marshall Faulk
A Mother’s Love My Son‌ If tears could build a stairwell And memories were a lane, I would walk right up to Heaven And bring you home again. No farewell words were spoken No time to say good-bye. You were gone before I knew it, And only God knows why. My heart still aches in sadness, And secret tears still flow, What it means to lose you, No one will ever know.
Love Always, Mom
