Her Story Geraldine Mary Chapman Douglas, was born November 8, 1936 in New Orleans, LA to the late Joseph G. and Camille E. Chapman. She went to be with the Lord on August 28, 2015. She graduated from Walter L. Cohen in 1953. On May 22, 1954, she married the love of her life, the late Andrew A. Douglas, Jr. From this union, four children were born, Andrew, Gregory, Kevin and Glenda. She was a hardworking homemaker and loved raising her family. Geraldine leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories, her loving children, Andrew Austin Douglas, III (Theresa Lopis), of New Orleans, Gregory Douglas of Baton Rouge, LA, Kevin Lin Douglas of New Orleans, LA and Glenda Douglas Thomas (Raymond Mitchell) of Zachary, LA; four grandchildren, Tiffany Douglas Barrett (Rawleigh Barrett) of Ft. Stewart, GA, Kendall Henry (Shuntae Henry) of Houston, TX, Colby Jones of Zachary, LA and Jake Thomas, III, of Zachary, LA; a sister, Brenda Chapman Thomas of New Orleans, LA; a brother, Herbert Chapman of New Orleans, LA; a brother-in-law, Anthony August Douglas (Lee Douglas), of Pittsburgh, CA; a Goddaughter, Vickie Thomas of New Orleans, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Andrew Austin Douglas, Jr., her grandparents, mother & father-in-law; sisters, Yolanda Martinez and Jane Rita Daniels; three brothers, Joseph Chapman, Wardell Chapman and Kenneth Chapman; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Stewart and Leonard Daniels, a niece, Kerrie Chapman; four nephews, Milton Dutton, Herbert Chapman, Jr., Michael Chapman and Jamal Jacobs and a son-in-law, Jake Thomas, Jr.

Mom… We cannot say “good-bye,” we can only say “see you later.” You gave your life to us and because of you, we know love, respect, family and God. We will miss you and think of you every day of our lives. We thank God for having such a wonderful mother as you. We know you are with Dad now and we hope you guys are at peace.
