Howard grew up in New Orleans and received his education in the Orleans Parish School System, graduating from Booker T. Washington High School. Howard was a fun-loving person who loved telling jokes and being the life of the party. He was a member and served as Treasurer of the Caliope High Steppers Social & Pleasure Club. He was a great family man who would give his last if he thought you needed it. Each year around Christmas, he would fix up old bicycles and give them away to needy children. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Harrison Minor, Sr.; his step-mother, Doretha Minor; his wife, Doris Minor; his daughter, Michelle Minor and his son, Howard Minor, Jr. Howard leaves to cherish his fond memories one son, Kevin Minor; 1 grandson, Joshua (Lucy) Minor, Sr.; 1 granddaughter, Kevonda White; 1 great granddaughter, Carlee White; 1 great grandson, Joshua Minor, Jr.; 4 sisters, Edna (Stanley) Brisco, Cynthia Brown, Ray Helen (Willie) Williams and Dedra Day; 8 brothers, Harrison (Bessie) Minor, Jesse Minor, Charles Bibbins, Leon Minor, Michael Minor, Kenneth Minor and Terry (Valerie) Minor; 1 aunt, Velma Minor Bardell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Our Tribute God Bless You, Brother! We lost a brother with a heart of gold, How much we miss you can never be told, You shared our troubles and helped us along, If we follow your footsteps, we will never go wrong. We miss you from your bedside chair, Your loving smile and gentle air, Your vacant place no one can fill, We miss you, brother and always will. You were a brother so very rare, Content in your home and always there, On earth you toiled; In heaven you rest. God bless you brother; you were one of the best. Each time we look at your picture, You seem to smile and say, "Don't be sad, but courage take, And love each other for my sake." ~~ Your Sisters and Brothers ~~
