Her Story November 25, 1936 - April 11, 2015

Losoina Walcott Taylor was born November 25, 1936 to Alfred and Mary Hunter Walcott. She departed this life on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the age of 78. Losoina grew up in New Orleans and received her formal education in the Orleans Parish School system. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. Losoina met and married Julius Charles Taylor, Sr. in April of 1957 and to that union five boys were born. She was a devoted wife for 53 years as well as a loving and caring mother. She worked in the Orleans Parish School System as a Cafeteria Cook for over 30 years. Her favorite pastime was taking care of her family. Losoina was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Hunter Walcott Ellis and Alfred Walcott and sisters Unjila Holloway and Ophelia Bankston. She leaves to cherish her fond memories, five sons, Julius Charles (Josephine) Taylor, Jr., Michael Taylor, Lawrence (Venette) Taylor, Joseph Taylor and Wayne Taylor; grandchildren, Keishawn, Tranisse, Angel, Makeya and Johnisha Taylor; special family member, Rosalynn Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
