Her Story His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:21

Mert placed her membership at the Greater Evergreen Baptist Church in 1974 under leadership of the late Rev. Horace Brown. She was also a member of the Kitchen Crew and became well known for her 7up cakes and sweet potato pies. Her favorite scripture is Psalm 23 and her favorite hymn is Amazing Grace. On Sunday, June 9, 2013, the angels came and carried Mert to her heavenly home. She leaves to cherish her memories her two sons Chrissell and Glenndell Rhone; her grandchildren, Breian, Shane, and Cade Rhone, Dionte Steward, Kendra Mills, and Maggie Lynch; two sisters Juanita Terrell and Felecia (Coleman) Davis; 8 brothers A.D. An Angel Among Us God knows what we need, just when we need it In times of need He sends a kindred spirit One who puts our needs before her own Making sure God’s goodness is shown Always keeping others lifted in prayer A woman like this is truly rare The fruit of the Spirit is what she bears Taking time to show tender, loving care Obedient to God, faithful and true The world needs more women like you Not concerned with earthly things She works to earn her halo and wings She’s a gem to all she knows And brings joy wherever she goes All this she does without grumbling or complaining It seems as if her faith is never waning Her countenance is bright and always glorious She is truly an angel among us

Momma A love that started before we met A lifetime of promises that were always kept Kind and caring are your ways You always know the right things to say Life may not have been a crystal stair But you always showed how much you care Whether is was with cakes or pies Or the beautiful twinkle in your eyes Sweet, loving, kind, and gentle You make life a little more special The woman you are is like no other I was truly blessed‌ When God made you my mother
