My Favorite Scripture‌ Philippians 4:6 (New King James Translation) 6 Be
anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

A Virtuous Woman
P r ove r b s : 3 1 : 1 0 - 3 0 (New Living Translation) 10
Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies.11 Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She finds wool and flax and busily spins it. 14 She is like a merchant’s ship, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household and plan the day’s work for her servant girls. 16 She goes to inspect a field and buys it; with her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She is energetic and strong, a hard worker. 18 She makes sure her dealings are profitable; her lamp burns late into the night. 19 Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber. 20 She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy. 21 She has no fear of winter for her household, for everyone has warm clothes. 22 She makes her own bedspreads. She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns. 23 Her husband is well known at the city gates, where he sits with the other civic leaders. 24 She makes belted linen garments and sashes to sell to the merchants. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. 26 When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. 27 She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. 28 Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: 29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised. Her Story A Life Well-Lived… Peggy Christine Hughes (affectionately known as “Grandma Peggy”), 85 departed this life on Tuesday, January 19th, 2016, at Cornerstone Medical Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was a life long resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. Peggy was born on June 13th, 1930 in Greensburg, La to the late Ruben and Mattie Robertson. Peggy was the youngest of nine children, whom enjoyed the country living, yet she always dreamed of city life. After graduating from East Feliciana, High School in Clinton, La., she relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana where she started her career in early childhood education. Peggy worked for over 50 years caring for kids. Peggy accepted Jesus Christ at an early age she was a member of Days Chapel, AME in Clinton Louisiana. After her relocation to New Orleans she attended Christian Union Missionary Church, with her kids before joining Pentecost Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Charles B. Winslow Jr. She was a dedicated member of the Pastor Aid Committee, Willing Workers and the Usher Board. She loved and served her pastor without expecting anything in return. She was an active and faithful member until health issues with her husband slowed her down to care and serve him until his death. Peggy married the late Jimmie Hughes Sr. and to this union there was born 1 child to join 12 children from previous marriages. Peggy shared a special bond with all thirteen of her children whom she loved and celebrated life to the fullest. There was never a dull moment in mama’s home. Everyone in the community congregated there and loved her dearly. Peggy was an active member in the community having worked on many political campaigns, enabling the uplift of all people. She was a dedicated member of the Gentilly East Development Association. Her motto was “Every child deserves a chance”. She served on the Catholic Charity Child Care Advocacy Board, For Feeding The Hungry. Peggy was a dedicated wife, mother, friend and grandmother. She enjoyed eating so cooking became a ministry. She demonstrated her love for tasty food throughout her life by preparing and feeding all who needed a home cooked meal. Peggy enjoyed playing pool, dancing and traveling. However her greatest joy came from watching and playing board games and card games with her grandchildren. Peggy was a servant that love to share with her family, for many years her home served as a Beacon of Light for many children that needed a little tender loving care. In Grandma Peggy’s home everyone knew the Golden Rule, so if you decoded to break the rule you learned early consequences was far greater. She loved and lived life to the fullest and earned her crown in GLORY! Peggy was an avid sports fan and her greatest love was the New Orleans Saints! Grandma’s Gone to Heaven… On January 19, 2016, a bright and sunny day, the angels came and took Grandma Peggy far away but in the stillness of the night I could almost hear her say Dear grandchildren – I will miss you, you mean so much to me But Jesus called me to His side In Heaven I will be. A place of God’s great beauty No tears or earthly cares Only peace and joy forever And love beyond compare So remember all the good times, board games we played and the card games I shared Don’t think about the sad Treasure all the special moments Through the years we’ve always had The love and respect And if you trust in Jesus I can promise this and more You will get a hug from Grandma Peggy Someday on Heaven’s Golden Shore.

I Never Left You By: John F. Connor
I watch you everyday I am always very near I know deep in your heart You realize I am here I watch you while you sleep In your bed at home I hear you when you speak to me When you are on your own You cannot understand The reason why I have gone But I will never leave you I am there to keep you strong Talk to me, I hear you Though you may not see We share an unbroken bond That will always be Death won’t keep us apart For our love is forever Just remember me in your heart And one day we will be together Live you life and live it full Don’t waste a single day Remember I am always with you Every step of the way…

Move-In Notice Change of Address To my children, family and friends:
I want to let you know I’ve moved. Tuesday morning I received a call from God, Couldn’t say no to Him. For He is the Chief Architect Who informed me that My new home is ready, and I’m to move in immediately. You know that I’ve been sending up my timber, Packing up and turning over my keys, but There was some minor finishing touches in some of the timber That only the Chief Carpenter, Jesus, could fix. Some were a little too broad, thick or not long enough. Well, my new home is finished!! It’s a beautiful sight to behold. Family, I thought WE could decorate – WOW!!! It is located in an exclusive Estate area behind a beautiful pearly gate, just off a serene, celestial shore. Of course, the streets are paved with gold and every day is Sunday I’m told. There is peace, love, joy and happiness here. With no pain or fear… I could go on and on about my new home, but Mama (aka Grandma Peggy) gotta get fitted for my brand new wings. Let me give you the new address: Peggy Christine Hughes Heavenly Square God Town, Heaven 00000 I don’t have a cell phone anymore, but you can call God. If you Don’t have the number, He’s listed in the “GOOD BOOK,” on every page. Love Y’all, Mama

Perhaps you sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a floral piece, if so we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say: Perhaps you were not there at all, but thought of us that day.
Whatever you did to console our hearts, We thank you so much,Whatever the part. Sincerely, The Family
