After meeting financial need, academic and community service requirements, on May 18th students from Western High, Cypress Bay High, Sagemont, H.A.N.D.Y. and Children’s Harbor will be awarded scholarships from $1,000 up to full four-year tuitions, often making the difference on whether these students are able to attend college or not.
The Rotary Club of Weston’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament is a highly anticipated event that has been held for the past 36 years in the beautiful Club at Weston Hills. The tournament’s success can be attributed to careful planning, dedicated volunteers, and generous sponsors who believe in the cause.
The planning for the tournament starts several months in advance, with a committed team of volunteers working tirelessly to ensure every detail is carefully coordinated. Sponsorship plays a crucial role in the success of the tournament. Local businesses and individuals are approached for sponsorship opportunities, ranging from cash donations to in-kind contributions such as prizes, food, and beverages. The tournament encourages camaraderie and friendly competition, with golfers of all skill levels participating in a variety of on-course contests, such as longest drive and closest to the pin, and speed golf.
