Introduction We continue to be buffeted along in the choppy waters of the pandemic and the way of life that has resulted from it. It has brought with it unpredictable losses and grief. So many people are nursing broken hearts. We grieve the loss of loved ones, but also the loss of normal life, of quality time spent together, of freely meeting in our churches, of feeling confident in our relationships . . . there is much to weigh us down. Yet there is no valley that we must venture through alone. Whatever sorrows we are facing, our sovereign and loving God knows and understands. He too went through a profound separation of His own. As Jesus hung on the cross, He cried out “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46). The Son endured the pain and separation of crucifixion for our sins out of love for us, so that we might be His for all eternity. Jesus truly knows what it is to be broken-hearted, to feel alone, to be weighed down. That is why we can trust that “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted” (Psalm 34:18). In His presence, we find the comfort and reassurance we need. It is our hope that through these reflections and prayers, you will discover that He is near, ready to carry you and your heart along the road of grief and loss you are currently travelling. Prayers for those who have lost some intimacy with God God Knows Your Story As I drove home after lunch with my best friend, I thanked God out loud for her. She knows me and loves me in spite of things I don’t love about myself. She’s one of a small circle of people who accept me as I am—my quirks, habits and mistakes. Still, there are parts of my story I resist sharing even with her and others that I love—times where I’ve clearly not been the hero, times I’ve been judgemental or unkind or unloving. But God does know my whole story. He’s the One I can freely talk to even if I’m reluctant to talk with others. The words of Psalm 139 describe the intimacy we enjoy with our Sovereign King. He knows us completely (v. 1). He’s “familiar with all [our] ways” (v. 3). He invites us to come to Him with our confusion, our anxious thoughts and our struggles with temptation. When we’re willing to yield completely to Him, He reaches out to restore and rewrite the parts of our story that make us sad because we’ve wandered from Him. God knows us better than anyone else ever can, and still . . . He loves us! When we daily surrender ourselves to Him and seek to know Him more fully, He can change our story for His glory. A Prayer for a Deeper Relationship with God Heavenly Father, thank You that I never need to try to hide myself from You. Every breath in my lungs is a personal gift from You. I want to go deeper with You Lord. Help me to listen to Your voice in Your Word, to take regular time to rest in Your presence, to seek You throughout each day. Be my heart’s desire and fill me with the fullness of Your love. I rejoice that You are so close to me; I open my life to You again. Amen A Prayer for God to Search You All-knowing Lord, search my heart and mind. Show me what has taken Your place in my thoughts and desires. I repent of seeking other things to fulfil me and give me purpose. Lord, instruct me in making wise choices; lead me along the path of righteousness; give me the faith to leave sinful habits behind. You promise in the Bible that you have given me everything I need to live a godly life—that is a promise I take hold of today. Prayers for those who have lost loved ones Close One heart-breaking image has stuck in my mind from the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral in April 2021. Due to the pandemic restrictions, the Queen of the United Kingdom spent the service sitting on her own. A solitary figure, surrounded by rows and rows of empty pews, bidding farewell to her husband of seventy-three years. Her isolated mourning resonated with thousands of viewers who had faced similarly lonely farewells during the coronavirus pandemic. There’s something hollow about having to grieve alone. Yet many commented that, despite the empty pew, her strong faith in God meant she wasn’t alone at all. This was the life-changing truth David experienced when he felt alone and afraid (see 1 Samuel 21:10–12). “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted,” he wrote (Psalm 34:18). God is in our grief, our pain and our questions. The word to describe God’s presence in our painful times is not distant, but close. His eyes are fixed on us (v. 15), His ears are attentive to our cries (v. 16) and He “delivers [his people] from all their troubles” (v. 17). Even those of us who haven’t grieved during the pandemic may be emerging out of it feeling more fragile. Lonelier. Sadder. More anxious. While full recovery may not be immediate, a crucial part of God’s deliverance is His intimacy when our hearts ache. May He be our refuge today, for the Lord is close to the broken-hearted. A Prayer for God’s Comfort Heavenly Father, my heart aches. My tears flow freely. I just desperately miss my loved one—and the thought of no longer seeing their face or hearing their laugh physically hurts. How can the world carry on around me? But You know Father. You see me in my distress and You promise to be close. I need Your comfort; wrap me in Your embrace. I don’t know how to get through today; be with me Lord and carry my heartbreak with me. God of all comfort, comfort me I pray. Amen A Prayer for Hope Sovereign Lord, death was never meant to be a part of the world You created. It feels like the ruler who continually robs us of those we love. In my grief, I lift my eyes to Jesus. He alone sits on the throne; He has defeated sin and death; His resurrection is the victory and promise for all His people. Though I am in mourning, may I also have a heart full of hope—for death has no real power over those who trust in You; death simply opens the door for us to enter Your home. Thank You Lord that You stand waiting to wipe every tear from my eye. Amen A Prayer for Those Who Lost Someone During the Pandemic Dear Father, I lift to You those who have had to grieve in the isolation of the pandemic restrictions. Hold especially close any who were unable to say goodbye or be with their loved ones. Grant them space to express their sorrow. Gather the right people around them to bring Your love, warmth and care into the empty spaces of their lives. May the comfort they receive in these dark days allow them to be a light to others in years to come. Amen 9

Prayers for those who have lost freedoms The Dwindles It started with a tickle in my throat. Uh oh, I thought. That tickle turned out to be influenza. And that was just the beginning of bronchial affliction. Influenza morphed into whooping cough—yes, that whooping cough—and that turned into pneumonia. Eight weeks of torso-wracking coughing—it’s not called whooping cough for nothing—has left me humbled. I don’t think of myself as old. But I’m old enough to start thinking about heading in that direction. A member of my small group at church has a funny name for the health issues that assail us as we age: “the dwindles.” But there’s nothing funny about dwindling’s work in action. In 2 Corinthians 4, Paul too wrote—in his own way—about “the dwindles”. That chapter chronicles the persecution he and his team endured. Fulfilling his mission had taken a heavy toll: “Outwardly we are wasting away,” he admitted. But even as his body failed—from age, persecution and harsh conditions—Paul held tightly to his sustaining hope: “Inwardly we are being renewed day by day” (v. 16). These “light and momentary troubles,” he insisted, can’t compare to what awaits: “an eternal glory that far outweighs them all” (v. 17). Even as I write tonight, “the dwindles” claw insistently at my chest. But I know that in my life and that of anyone who clings to Christ, they’ll not have the last word. Adam R. Holz

A Prayer for Strength in Weakness Lord Jesus, be my strength for all the things I must endure. My strength is failing, but Yours never will. Please use me, even within my limits. 5 Things to Do if You Feel Limited in Some Way

Entrust your weaknesses to God: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). When we entrust our weaknesses and worries to the Lord, He promises to fill us with His indescribable peace. We don’t know how things will work out, but we walk with the One who does. Seek His purposes: “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails” (Proverbs 19:21). The limits we feel are another reminder that so much of life is out of our control; yet nothing is out of the Lord’s hands. His purposes cannot be thwarted by our weaknesses. When we set our hearts on His plans, He will achieve just what He intends in our lives. Lean on Jesus’ strength: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13 NKJV). Our strength runs out quickly; Jesus’ never does. In fact, His strength is made perfect in our weakness, because that’s when we discover that He is really all we need. When we stop striving and start relying on Him, He will sustain us through even the darkest valley—ensuring we emerge from it with a stronger faith in the One who will never let us go. Pray in thankfulness: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). Thankfulness may not come naturally when we feel low. Yet thankfulness is a wonderful tonic for weariness. It puts our focus back on the goodness of God, rather than on the difficulty of our circumstances. We have so much to be thankful for in our relationship with Christ and our salvation. Thankfulness can shine through any restrictions we face. Look to the needs of others: “In humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others” (Philippians 2:3-4). Our weaknesses can make us inward looking. But when we look to the needs of others, we walk in the footsteps of Jesus. He knew what it was to live with restrictions: he constantly met disbelief and rejection, stopping Him from transforming lives as He desired. Yet His was also a joyful life; rather than seeking to be served, He came “to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).

Prayers for those who have lost confidence in themselves Lies with Truth I set my Bible on the podium and stared at the eager faces waiting for me to begin the message. I’d prayed and prepared. Why couldn’t I speak? You’re worthless. No one will ever listen to you, especially if they know your past. And God would never use you. Seared into my heart and mind, these words spoken in various ways over my life ignited a decade-long war against the lies I so easily believed. Though I knew the words weren’t true, I couldn’t seem to escape my insecurities and fears. So I opened my Bible. Turning to Proverbs 30:5, I inhaled and exhaled slowly before reading out loud. “Every word of God is flawless,” I read, “he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” I closed my eyes as peace overwhelmed me, and I began to share my testimony with the crowd. Many of us have experienced the paralysing power of negative words or opinions others have of us. Maybe the recent pandemic has also robbed us of roles and responsibilities, making us feel like we’re left with little to offer. However, God’s words are “flawless,” perfect and absolutely sound. When we’re tempted to believe spirit-crushing ideas about our value or our purpose as God’s children, God’s enduring and infallible truth protects our minds and our hearts. We can echo the psalmist who wrote: “I remember, Lord, your ancient laws, and I find comfort in them” (Psalm 119:52). Let’s combat lies we’ve accepted about God, ourselves and others by replacing negative words and feelings with Scripture. Xochitl Dixon

A Prayer for Confidence Heavenly Father, I love You. I cling to You and I long for You! Your love for me is the one thing that makes sense when my world and feelings are muddled. You saw me and planned out my days before I was formed in my mother’s womb. You rejoice over me! And You have adopted me as Your own child. All of these truths, from Your own eternal Word, teach me how valuable I am. I ask for the courage to believe what You say about me. Give me all I need to walk the path You have laid out for me. You are my strength, wisdom and confidence. Amen A Prayer for Sharing God’s Love with the Unlovable Father God, You have made every person. You formed them, love them and invite them into Your eternal family. I am so sorry for sometimes judging the unlovable, difficult people I encounter. I don’t always want to share Your love with them or give them the same value which You have bestowed upon them. But You long for them to be found in Christ; give me that desire too. Lord, let me see others through Your eyes. Amen A Prayer to See Yourself through God’s Eyes Heavenly father, You are so good to me. You sing over me with songs and delight in me. At times I struggle to believe this. I have struggle to walk in the truth that I am Your beloved child. I have forgotten that You are always with me, and that Your love does not depend on my goodness, but Yours. Open the eyes of my heart to see myself as You do: carefully made, precious beyond measure, valued enough that Your Son would die in my place. You have created me to do wonderful things in Your name! Prayers for those who have lost a job or income It’s Okay to Lament I dropped to my knees and let my tears fall to the floor. “God, why aren’t you taking care of me?” I cried. It was during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. I’d been laid-off for almost a month, and something had gone wrong with my unemployment application. I hadn’t received any money yet. Deep down, I trusted that God would work out everything. I believed He truly loved me and would take care of me, but in that moment, I felt abandoned. The book of Lamentations reminds us it’s okay to lament. The book was probably written during or soon after the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem in 587 BC. It describes the affliction (3:1, 19), oppression (1:18) and starvation (2:20; 4:10) the people faced. Yet, in the middle of the book the author remembers why he could hope: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (3:22–23). Despite the devastation, the author remembered that God remains faithful. Many of us lost jobs and businesses during lockdown; and now we’re left with no idea what’s going to happen next. Sometimes it feels impossible to believe that “the Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him” (v. 25), especially when we don’t see an end to our suffering. But we can cry out to Him, trusting that He hears us and that He’ll be faithful to see us through. Julie Schwab

A Prayer for God’s Provision Father, the earth and everything in it is Yours. No situation is outside of Your control. The loss of my job has hurt me; I am afraid for my family’s future. I don’t know what steps to take next. But I know You can move mountains for Your children; or give them the strength to climb over. I choose to entrust this difficult season to You, Lord. I thank You in advance for providing for my needs and for caring for my family. I don’t know how or when, but I put my faith in Your promise that You will give us just what we need. Amen A Prayer for Contentment Amidst Uncertainty Good Shepherd, walk with me so that I will not be in want. My needs and worries threaten to overwhelm me. But by Your side, I know I have all I need. Strengthen them to persevere through the exhausting routine of searching, applying and interviewing. Put them in the workplace You desire for them so that You might use them for good. And I lift to You all those having to retrain in order to take on new work. Bless them and their families during this challenging season; give them the energy to juggle many commitments. Prayers for those who have lost social confidence Follow the Leader No words. Just music and moving. During a twenty-four-hour Zumba marathon amid the COVID-19 pandemic, thousands of people from around the globe worked out together and virtually followed instructors from India, China, Mexico, America, South Africa, the UK, parts of Europe and several other places. These diverse individuals were able to move together without any language barriers. Why? Because instructors of the exercise craze Zumba, created in the mid-1990s by a Colombian aerobics instructor, utilise non-verbal cues to communicate. Class instructors move, and students follow their lead. They follow with no words uttered or shouted. Words can sometimes get in the way and create barriers. They may cause confusion such as the Corinthians experienced, as noted in Paul’s first letter to them. It was confusion brought about by differing views of disputable matters pertaining to the eating of particular foods (1 Corinthians 10:27–30). But our actions can transcend barriers and even confusion. As Paul says in today’s passage, we should show people how to follow Jesus through our actions—seeking “the good of many” (10:32–33). We invite the world to believe in Him as we “follow the example of Christ” (11:1). Perhaps after so many months of isolation and lockdowns, you feel less confident about getting back out in the wider community—and with less energy for handling social situations. Maybe the idea of talking freely about your faith is more daunting than ever. It’s okay to start small; as someone once said, “Preach the gospel at all times. Use words when necessary.” As we follow Jesus’ lead, may He guide the way we live and the actions we take to cue others to the reality of our faith. A Prayer for Building Deeper Relationships Father, after the increased isolation of the last couple of years, I feel more anxious and closed off. I’m afraid to come out of the small world my isolation has created. I don’t know how to reforge meaningful connections with the people in my church, work and friendship groups. Remind me of my identity in Christ as Your precious child; may that give me the confidence to be vulnerable and open, allowing others into my life again. I am so thankful for Your love which casts out all fear—I long to show it to others. Help me take baby steps forwards. I surrender my relationships to You; deepen them and reveal Yourself in them for Your glory. Amen A Prayer for the Continued Re-Opening of the World Heavenly Father, thank You that most restrictions have lifted across our nation. I pray for Your guidance and protection so that our communities will keep reconnecting safely and carefully. I pray for a special blessing upon those who are still nervous about engaging with wider society again. May they know Your peace. And I pray particularly for those parts of the world still struggling to manage the pandemic. Thank You, Lord, that You are sovereign over all; be our shield, shelter and strong provider in these days. Amen A Prayer to Shine God’s Light Almighty God, with so much unrest going on at the moment, we ask You for a special measure of grace. Help us, as we navigate the issues, not to lose sight of You: Your kingdom, Your priorities and Your merciful character. Give us kind, compassionate hearts and stout, unshakable faith in Your Word. Strengthen us to stand for what we believe without seeing those who disagree as enemies. May we be ambassadors of Your love, Your hope and Your gospel. For Jesus’ sake make us lights of the world. Prayers for those who have lost touch with a loved one Being a Good Friend A dear friend of mine sent me a text message that said, “I’m so glad we can tell each other the good, the bad and the ugly!” We have been friends for many years, and we have learned to share our joys and our failures; especially when life is making things difficult for us. We recognise we are far from perfect, so we share our struggles and rejoice in each other’s successes to make sure we are always able to encourage one another in the Lord. David and Jonathan had a solid friendship too, beginning with the good days of David’s victory over Goliath (1 Samuel 18:1–4). They shared their fears during the bad days of Jonathan’s father’s jealousy (18:6–11; 20:1–2). Finally, they suffered together during the ugly days of Saul’s plans to kill David (20:42). Maintaining close friendships has been incredibly hard during this season of isolation. Yet good friends don’t abandon one another when external circumstances change. Even if you feel disconnected from someone important, you can still reach out with the compassion and companionship David and Jonathon displayed. Distance need not stop us pointing one another to God in the ugly and difficult days. Real friendships are a gift from God because they exemplify the perfect Friend, who remains loyal through the good, the bad and the ugly days. As the Lord reminds us, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). Who would you like to reconnect with and encourage? A Prayer to Reconnect with Good Friends Father, thank You for the people You have put in my life who love You, love Your Word and who can be trusted to act wisely and with grace. Help me to put in the work to maintain those relationships, even when circumstances force us to be distant. Friends who readily point me to Christ are a priceless treasure. Keep shaping me through them, and may I be such a friend to them as well. Thank You, Lord, for the gift of Your people. Amen A Prayer to Be a Good Friend Dear Jesus, teach me to love others the way that You love me. May my presence be refreshing and my home a haven for those who enter it. I long to serve Your people with compassion and kindness, being a true friend to everyone You put in my path. And help me to be a good friend and witness to those who do not know You, spreading the sweet aroma of Your love and welcome, so that they will be impacted by Your offer of friendship through my acts of friendship. Amen A Prayer for the Lonely Father God, our ever-present help in times of trouble, we praise You and thank You that despite the isolating times we’ve been through, Your Word promises that nothing can separate us from Your love. Be with the lonely, the hurting, the depressed and the hopeless we pray. Give them a special measure of Your blessings that they may find in You the strength and hope to face another day. Prayers for those who have missed out on quality time with family Apart but Not Abandoned I had a lump in my throat as I said good-bye to my niece on the eve of her move to university. Now she would be hundreds of miles away. No longer would we meet regularly to talk. I had to trust that God would take care of her. This is a sadness many of us have felt over the last couple of years. We’ve been forced apart from family and loved ones through lockdowns and pandemic restrictions. We’ve missed out on hugs and closeness, the birth of grandchildren, checking in on elderly parents, and simply being around those we love. We’ve had to entrust our friends and family to God from a distance. Paul probably also felt like this as he said good-bye to the elders of the church in Ephesus. Having established the church and taught them for three years, Paul concluded these elders to be as close as family to him. Now that Paul was headed to Jerusalem, he would not see them again. But Paul had parting advice for the Ephesians. Though they would no longer have Paul as their teacher, the Ephesians did not have to feel abandoned. God would continue to train them through “the word of his grace” to lead the church (Acts 20:32). Unlike Paul, God would always be with them. Whoever it is we’ve missed spending time with during this pandemic— distance is always very difficult. When we let go of their hands, we can trust that God has them in His. A Prayer for God’s Peace and Presence Heavenly Father, thank You for holding me close. You know the ache in my soul as I think about all the moments I have missed with my family over the last couple of years. New grandchildren, first steps, graduations, weddings, and just quality time together. Bless me with Your nourishing peace and presence; fill me with the joy of Your goodness and faithfulness, knowing You are just as present with my loved ones. Though I have missed time with them, I am so thankful that You’ve missed nothing. Amen A Prayer for Reconciliation Lord God, where distance and hurt has crept into my relationships, I ask for Your healing and restoration. Oh God of reconciliation, bring me back together with those I love but feel like I have lost. Restore a peaceful, Christ-centred unity between us so that we can be reminded that we walk the road together by Your Spirit. You can direct all hearts like the waters of a river; direct ours back to one another, I pray. Prayers for those who have lost church fellowship Thriving Together My husband, Alan, stood below the towering lights illuminating the athletic field, as a member of the opposing team hit a ball into the air. With his eyes fixed on the ball, Alan ran full speed towards the darkest corner of the field—and slammed into the chain link fence. Later that night, I handed him an ice pack. “Are you feeling okay?” I asked. He rubbed his shoulder. “I’d feel better if my friends had warned me that I was getting near the fence,” he said. Teams function best when they work together. Alan’s injury could have been avoided, if only one of his teammates had yelled out a warning as he approached the fence. Scripture reminds us that members of the church are designed to work together and watch out for each other like a team. Even (and especially) in the aftermath of a pandemic. The apostle Paul tells us that God cares about how we interact with each other, because the actions of one person can impact the whole community of believers (Colossians 3:13–14). When we all embrace opportunities to serve each other (whether online or in person), fully devoted to unity and peace, the church flourishes (v. 15). Paul instructed his readers to “let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit” (v. 16). In this way we can inspire and protect one another through loving and honest relationships, obeying and praising God with grateful hearts. A Prayer for Your Church Family Lord, thank You for placing me in my church family. Make us a beacon of light in our community, whether we meet physically or online. Be a comfort to those who are sick, grieving or struggling. Send out the joyful with songs of praise. Strengthen the weak. Bring peace in the place of any division. Almighty and merciful Father, make us a haven to all who come through our doors or join us online. May we radiate Your sweet presence and grace through the harmony of our relationships. Teach us to love as You have loved us. Amen A Prayer to Use Your Gifts to Serve God’s People Father, I long to grow in maturity and unity with my brothers and sisters. Help me to be an active and engaged part of Your body—rejoicing with those who rejoice, comforting those who mourn, feeling the pain of those who are hurting. Thank You for the gifts You have given me; I know they are for the building up of Your body. So send me, I pray, to minister to Your people. Give me the joy of serving, and enrich me with the special fellowship which is only found amongst those who share Your Spirit. Amen A Prayer for Unity Heavenly Father, help my church body to walk in a manner worthy of the calling You have given us. We are all Your children and co-heirs with Christ. Help us to have humble and gentle hearts towards one another, recognising that we walk the road to Your home together, with Your Spirit leading and binding us. 5 ways we can reconnect with our churches post-pandemic

Attend a physical gathering if you can: “Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you . . . Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere” (Psalm 84:4,10). The idea of stepping back into your church’s building after such a long time may be quite daunting. But there is something uplifting and special about being before the Lord with His people, singing praises together and listening to His Word. If you can, go and be refreshed with His people. Attend meetings/services somehow: “Let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another” (Hebrews 10:24-25). Not all of us are able to physically get back to church yet. But it is important not to let church life slip into the past. Join your church online, or log into another local church if your one doesn’t have live services. It is through joining God’s people (by any means) that we can be spurred on in our own walk with the Lord. Keep in touch: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labour: if either of them falls down, one can help the other up” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). There have been varied experiences of church during the pandemic. Some have felt cared for, others have felt forgotten. Even if you feel on the fringe, get in touch with a church leader or friend. Ring them or send a message to let them know your situation and needs. They are there to support you and pray for you—but they may need you to take that first step of saying what’s going on in your life. Keep informed of the latest news: “Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people” (Ephesians 6:18). Do you know what’s going on in your church at the moment? Do you know which ministries need support? Do you know who is ill or struggling? Get hold of your church’s newsletter or a copy of the weekly notices so you can be an active prayer partner. Pray for opportunities to serve: “As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers” (Galatians 6:10). We may not feel like we have a lot to offer, but as long as we have breath in our lungs, God has great plans for us. We are here to be His fellow workers and see His kingdom grow—it’s a wonderful privilege we are all blessed with! You can spend time each day praying for opportunities to serve your church family. You don’t need to know how, when or where—you just need to be ready to go where God leads you.

Prayers of the Broken -Hearted As we continue to be buffeted along in the choppy waters of the pandemic and the way of life that has resulted from it, so many of us are nursing broken hearts. We grieve the loss of loved ones, but also the loss of normal life, of quality time spent together, of freely meeting in our churches, of feeling confident in our relationships . . . there is much to weigh us down. Yet there is no valley that we must venture through alone. Whatever sorrows we are facing, our sovereign and loving God knows and understands. The Bible promises that “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted” (Psalm 34:18). In His presence, we will find the comfort and reassurance we need. It is our hope that through these reflections and prayers, you will discover that your Lord is near, ready to carry you and your heart along any road of grief and loss you are currently travelling.
